Who Is Maddison Brown, the Woman Spotted Holding Hands With Liam Hemsworth?


On Thursday night, October 10, Liam Hemsworth threw fans for a loop when he was seen in New York holding hands with Australian actor Maddison Brown, best known for starring on The CW’s Dynasty reboot. The PDA comes shortly after Us Weekly published a report saying Hemsworth was “open to meeting people” following his highly-publicized split from Miley Cyrus over the summer. Cyrus’ love life post-Hemsworth, meanwhile, has been the topic of intense tabloid fodder: She was briefly linked to Brody Jenner’s ex Kaitlynn Carter and is now reportedly dating Cody Simpson.

Maddison Brown is the first person Hemsworth has been spotted out with, though. It’s unclear what the status of their relationship is, but here’s everything you need to know about her:

She’s relatively new to the acting game. The 22-year-old made her Dynasty debut in season two as Kirby Anders, the daughter of the principal family’s chief steward who was framed for arson as a kid. Prior to this she had a role on the Australian TV series The Kettering Incident, but those are her only two substantial acting credits. According to People, Brown is also a model (she’s worked with Calvin Klein and Jason Wu, among other high-fashion brands) and has over 450,000 followers on Instagram.

Cosmopolitan reports that Brown’s comments are already blowing up with thirsty Hemsworth messages. “Your followers about to raise up lol Liam’s new girl,” one reads, while another says, “Are you Liam’s mystery girl????.”

She’s had a crush on Hemsworth for a while. Well, kinda. Fans unearthed an interview Brown did for the Zach Sang Show where she played a little “F–k, Marry, Kill.” Hilariously, she said she would sleep with both Chris and Liam Hemsworth at the same time. Liam Hemsworth Is Reportedly 'Open to Meeting People' After Miley Cyrus Split


In the two months since Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth announced they were splitting up after less than a year of marriage—but a decade together—there have been countless stories about who Cyrus is dating. First, there was the Kaitlynn Carter relationship, and now she’s calling Cody Simpson her “boyfriend”.

Of course, there’s not a single thing wrong with Cyrus living her best romantic life, but on the flip side Hemsworth has stayed relatively quiet in the press and on social media. In the days following the announcement, he posted a simple statement to Instagram. “Hi all. Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward,” he wrote. “This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets. Any reported quotes attributed to me are false. Peace and Love.”

Now, Us Weekly is reporting that Hemsworth is ready to get back into the dating game. “He hasn’t been dating anyone,” their source said. “But he’s open to meeting people.” (He officially filed for divorce on August 21.)

The Australian actor appears to be dipping his toe back into the world of social media, too. Earlier this week he posted his first Instagram since August 28—and it was more in line with the lighthearted, playful feel of his feed. “Start ya day out with a couple of these. They’re super easy ?,” he captioned a photo of himself hanging off the side of a dumpster.

Liam Hemsworth is also back to work, where he was spotted on the set of Dodge and Miles (an upcoming streaming series) in Hamilton, Ontario Canada in makeup that looks like he just finished filming an intense fight scene.

Liam Hemsworth Was Reportedly ‘Blindsided’ by Miley Cyrus’s First Statement About Their Split


Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth‘s breakup was one of the most talked-about celebrity news stories of the summer. The couple, who dated for a decade and tied the knot last December, announced their split via a statement from Cyrus’s rep: “Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time,” it read. “Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.”

So many people were surprised to read this—including, according to Page Six, Hemsworth, who was reportedly “blindsided” by the statement. Per the publication, the actor wasn’t given a heads-up about the statement going public. He just saw it on his social media feed—like the rest of us.

Take this information with a grain of salt, obviously. It’s possible Hemsworth knew about the actual statement but not the roll-out plan. And it’s also possible this isn’t true at all. That being said, a second source tells Page Six that, before this breakup announcement, Hemsworth was trying to work on the marriage and didn’t want to go public with any information. Other sources say the same thing about Cyrus: that she “fought” to make the relationship work. As always, though, we won’t know anything for sure until Miley Cyrus or Liam Hemsworth makes a comment.

People Think Miley Cyrus's New Music Video Is Filled With Nods to Liam Hemsworth


While Taylor Swift remains the indisputable queen of putting Easter eggs in music videos—I mean, have you seen the one for Lover?—it seems Miley Cyrus is taking a page out of Swift’s book, releasing a music video that fans think is chock full of nods to her relationship and subsequent breakup with Liam Hemsworth.

On Friday, September 7, Cyrus dropped the hotly-anticipated music video for her new single “Slide Away.” We’ve all agreed the song was undoubtedly a breakup anthem following her divorce from her husband of less than a year. Lyrics like, “So won’t you slide away. Back to the ocean, I’ll go back to the city lights” and “Move on, we’re not 17” seem to be nods to Hemsworth’s home of Australia and how they met and fell in love when she was 17. (RIP The Last Song.)

As if that wasn’t enough for fans, the music video contains a lot of things that could point to their relationship. In the video, a bored and unimpressed Cyrus wanders through a house as a raucous party unfolds around her. The premise itself is a clear parallel to one of her most famous videos, “We Can’t Stop,” in which the singer throws a wild house party and happily indulges in the partying. Now, as she sings lyrics like, “I want my house in the hills / Don’t want the whiskey and pills” and “I’m not who I used to be” fans can see how much she—and presumably her relationship with Hemsworth—has changed since then. Many fans also assumed the partying and shots of empty liquor and pill bottles could be a reference to Hemsworth’s alleged drug use. (Hemsworth’s reps denied those rumors.)

Eventually in the video, Cyrus heads into the pool, alone, and seems to find peace floating in the water. My interpretation: This is Cyrus letting her fans know she’s found happiness post-breakup—potentially with her rumored new girlfriend, Kaitlynn Carter.

(Can we also take a moment here to also recognize how amazing Cyrus looks in this video? She can truly pull off the wet-hair-don’t-care look, not to mention that chain metal dress that’s giving us serious Kendall Jenner/Paris Hilton 21st birthday dress vibes. And don’t even get me started on that glittery gold eyeshadow that looks straight out of Euphoria.)

Miley Cyrus Just Performed for the First Time Since the Liam Hemsworth Split at the 2019 MTV VMAs


Miley Cyrus has had an eventful few weeks. to say the least. It was just a little over two weeks ago that the singer and her husband, Liam Hemsworth, announced they were splitting up. Soon after, photos of her kissing Kaitlynn Carter (Brody Jenner’s ex and one of the stars of The Hills: New Beginnings) while the two were on vacation in Italy.

Oh, and on top of all of this she released a new single— called “Slide Away”—and prepped the performance we just saw on tonight’s MTV VMAs.

It feels like not that long ago at the VMAs, we saw Cyrus twerking all over the stage; for this performance, however, she kept things super pared down. The performance included a set of string musicians who lined the stage as she sang using a single microphone. Cyrus wore a simple black minidress, and the performance aired in black and white for viewers at home. This setting allowed the focus to be on her incredible vocals and the emotional lyrics.

As soon as the song was released last week, people started to surmise that it might be about the breakup with Hemsworth thanks to lines like, “Once upon a time, it was paradise. / Once upon a time, I was paralyzed. / Think I’m gonna miss these harbor lights, / But it’s time to let it go. / Once upon a time, it was made for us. / Woke up one day, it had turned to dust. / Baby, we were found, but now we’re lost, / So it’s time to let it go.” Or when she sings, “So won’t you slide away / Back to the ocean, I’ll go back to the city lights.”

Fans online loved the VMAs performance. “I literally have chills all over. Miley’s voice is something else,” one person tweeted. “God damn that song was absolutely gorgeous and her voice is legitimately one of a kind,” another wrote.

This Is Reportedly Why Liam Hemsworth Decided to File for Divorce From Miley Cyrus


The Internet has not stopped buzzing since Liam Hemsworth officially filed for divorce from Miley Cyrus, bringing their 10-year relationship to an end. In an Instagram post, Hemsworth made it clear that he wishes nothing but the best for Cyrus and wants to deal with this situation in private. But a source who spoke to Entertainment Tonight just illuminated exactly why this divorce happened.

According to the source, Hemsworth just felt like it was time for him and Cyrus to go their separate ways. “Liam’s decision to file for divorce is sad, but in the end, it was never going to work,” the source said. “They are too different. Liam never wanted to share Miley with anyone. He loves her and he is far too traditional. He finally realized he just wants to start fresh.”

The source added that Hemsworth had “come to terms that it was time to move on” and that his family had been “incredibly supportive” of his decision. “They are relieved it’s over,” the source said.

“At first, Liam wanted to just give it time but he finally felt like things were getting nasty and he didn’t want to drag it out publicly,” adds the insider. “He decided it was all too much.”

It definitely has gotten intense: In addition to people speculating over the song Cyrus released about their breakup, “Slide Away,” there have been rumors about infidelity, partying, and fighting being reasons the two of them drifted apart. The gossip has only grown since Cyrus was seen kissing her longtime friend Kaitlynn Carter, Brody Jenner’s ex, in Italy. Cyrus took to Twitter on Thursday, August 22, to shut down rumors there was cheating on her end.

“I can admit to a lot of things but I refuse to admit that my marriage ended because of cheating. Liam and I have been together for a decade,” she wrote. “I’ve said it before & it remains true, I love Liam and always will.”
