Taylor Swift is super-close to her fans. During her 1989 era, she literally invited fans to her house to listen to the album ahead of time and bake cookies. She playfully stalks them on Tumblr, slides into their Instagram DMs, and even pays for their student loans sometimes. All of these actions, however, are indicative of “Old Taylor,” the persona Swift said is “dead” in her song “Look What You Made Me Do.” So does that mean Swift will keep a healthy distance away from her fans with this new era?
If her interactions from this week are any indication, the answer to that question is a resounding “no.” The “…Ready For It?” singer has been popping up in the comment sections of fans’ Instagram Lives all week, and yesterday she even visited one lucky Swiftie at her house. Yup.
Lara, a big Swift fan who lives in England, received the surprise of a lifetime when Swift herself dropped by her pad. Check out some of the photos of Swift and Lara together, below. Lara is (understandably) very shook.
Swift found Lara, naturally, on Instagram. The young fan first brushed with the pop star when she joined one of her Instagram Live feeds, and things escalated from there. A Swift fan account DMed Lara and said Swift wanted to send her a package; she gave the account her address, and lo and behold Swift herself showed up to deliver it.
“I’m shaking so much,” Lara said in an Instagram video. “I just met the woman who made the biggest impact on my life. I was able to thank her. I’m not sleeping for, like, another seven months. This means the world to me. Nothing can beat this.”
