Why she loves it: “I’ve been obsessed with the way Fekkai shampoos smell since high school. But the brand’s new revamped line ‘The One’ one-ups the original and then some. It’s got that fancy salon scent comparable to a really feminine perfume, and the formula isn’t too heavy on my roots. I guarantee my coworkers have caught me smelling my own hair at some point.”

Why she loves it: “One time in high school, I washed my hair with my dad’s go-to shampoo, and then a guy I was into told me my hair smelled amazing. I’ll never forget it. Head & Shoulders is not exactly sexy, but it did make my hair smell fresh and left my hair really shiny. It was especially great when I was pregnant and my scalp was acting up. And, just like back in high school, my hair smelled great.”

Why she loves it: “Quench is the perfect word to describe this shampoo, it left my curls feeling smooth, soft, and full, and smells like milk and honey from heaven. I absolutely love it! Plus, since I put a lot of product on my curly hair after I wash, I like that this scent isn’t super overpowering and doesn’t compete with other scents of my conditioner or gel. It works like a conditioner and breaks through all of my tangles. I don’t even need to use a comb!”

Why she loves it: “This shampoo meant to fight frizz, but my hair is frizzy on purpose most of the time because I brush out my curls. The reason I really like it is because it doesn’t make my hair feel squeaky clean. It gives it more of a second-day hair feel. I also like that’s it’s not overly scented. It’s subtle, slightly green, and herby. And it leaves my hair feeling really soft.”

Why she loves it: “It smells like mermaid sparkles and sunshine on a tropical beach—no joke, close your eyes, lather up, and that’s what you’ll see on your eyelids. Even better, the color is a shiny, magical green that looks like mermaid scales. My hair got incredibly soft after just one use, and my damaged ends already look better.”

Why she loves it: “This shampoo smells like a water lily pond, honestly. The smell is super unique—it’s fresh, bright and sweet, but without any trace of cloying. I want it in a body wash, lotion, perfume and room spray. It doesn’t make the biggest difference in my hair’s behavior, but my curls feel moisturized and detangled well in the shower.”

Why she loves it: “It smells like grapefruit and lychee had a love baby that tasted so good it was only fed to the fanciest of royalty. The thick bubbles it created when I scrubbed it into my hair were strangely satisfying and it left my hair surprisingly soft and maybe even slightly stronger. I give it a 10/10 and would recommend to anyone who gets weepy over breakage or stresses about pulling their hair back, even super loosely, for a hot yoga class.”

Why she loves it: “Did you ever have those Flinstone Push-Up Pops after soccer games growing up? I kid you not, this smells exactly like the orange sherbet flavor (AKA the best one). My hair tends to lie pretty flat right after I wash it, so I was so happy to see what a noticeable boost this shampoo gave it. I saw way more volume at the roots, but my dryer ends still felt healthy and hydrated, plus it smells so good: fresh, citrusy, yet slightly floral.”

Why she loves it: “It makes my hair feel fresh and clean, but not squeaky clean. I’ve also felt a difference in the strength of my hair after several uses. It’s made with Mirabelle plums—the fruit, not the blossom—and it smells sweet and fruity, but it’s all very subtle and reminds me of a well-loved flower shop in my neighborhood.”

Plus, it smells like a deep-conditioning treatment at a fancy salon: clean and delicate like air off a lake after a rain.”
