Seeing as Simone Biles has already completely dominated the world of gymnastics (and shows no signs of stopping), it makes sense that she’d take her wildly impressive abilities to a different sport and completely change that game, too.
For those who are not familiar, it’s a tradition at big baseball games to have a celebrity or public figure throw out the ceremonial first pitch before the game starts. This occasionally goes very poorly—see: Cent, Fifty. But it’s typically a nice, if fairly uneventful, moment. But not when the greatest gymnast of all time is involved.
Biles, a Houston native, took to the mound ahead of Game 2 of the World Series between the Houston Astros and the Washington Nationals at Minute Maid Park. Instead of just throwing the ball to Astro Jake Marisnick behind home plate, she did a twisting flip first—and it was awesome.

Fans in the stands and online loved every second. “Simone Biles just did a casual flip and threw a near-strike in front of 40,000 people so like Olympians are just like us or something,” one person tweeted. “A standing full… in jeans… as a first pitch?! Just @Simone_Biles things. Goodness,” another said.
“I think I’ve looked at @Simone_Biles make that flip before the first pitch fifty eleven times. Highlight of the #WorldSeries thus far. #Salute,” a fan wrote.
Biles herself tweeted a shot of her family along the baseline, writing, “WORLD SERIES BBY.”
The home team ended up losing the game, but it was high fives all around for the most decorated gymnast in history. What’s next? We vote for an appearance on the USWNT. Bring the world the Rapinoe-Biles combo we deserve, please.
