<p>”Yeah, never again,” he said, before adding that special effects can do the work. “The prosthetics are too good.”</p>
<p>David is equally repelled by the idea of method acting,&nbsp;the process of&nbsp;immersing yourself in a character. He looked back on playing a Scottish King and thinking to himself “‘I’m gonna kill a cat’ or something: ‘I’m gonna go murder something to know what it feels like to murder,” adding, “I didn’t actually do it, obviously.”</p>
<p>He continued, “Not only is that stuff silly, it’s dangerous, and it actually doesn’t produce good work.”</p>

They do.'”</p>
<p>Jimmy wrote in&nbsp;<em>In With the Devil</em>&nbsp;that authorities believe Larry may have killed or kidnapped a young girl when he participated in multiple Civil War reenactments. According to <em>In With the Devil</em>, the dates and locations of the gatherings coincided with disappearances.</p>

<p>According to Christopher, the author of <em>Urges</em> who has interviewed Larry,&nbsp;the convict has confessed to kidnapping or killing numerous women, including 20-year-old <strong>Laurie Depies</strong>, who&nbsp;is still missing. <p>The only conviction that stuck was for the kidnapping of Jessica, for which he’s serving out a life sentence in North Carolina. He couldn’t be reached for comment.</p>
<p>Christopher&nbsp;believes&nbsp;Larry would offer more details about his alleged crimes to investigators if he was granted immunity. “I believe Larry may open up more, now that his mother is gone,” Christopher told&nbsp;<em>True Crime Diary</em>.&nbsp;”Larry told me he is not the same person he was when he was kidnapping and murdering women and young girls. He says he is sorry for what he has done.”</p>

Where to Buy The Best First Aid Kit Online

Like face masks and thermometers, first aid kits are in high demand right now. With coronavirus in full swing, people are looking to protect themselves in a myriad of ways, and investing in a first aid kit for your (and your family’s) needs can give you some peace of mind during these uncertain times. It can also help you avoid a trip to the drugstore or a visit to an urgent-care doctor for minor issues while the healthcare system is overwhelmed.

According to the World Health Organization, a medical kit should at the very least include “basic medicines to treat common ailments, first aid articles, and any other special medical items.” Think antiseptic wound cleanser, bandages, sterile dressings, insect bite treatment, antihistamine tablets, and more; see their list here. Additional items, like medication for preexisting medical conditions, vary per person.

Although first aid kits are function first, that doesn’t mean design has to take a backseat. In recent years, companies have taken it upon themselves to make “boring” household essentials—from bandages to cleaning supplies to first aid kits—feel fresh and fun and exciting to own and use. One startup brand that stands out is Judy, which makes a just-in-case emergency-kit that helps prepare you for the unexpected. Its bright orange color and user-friendly design is as functional as it is appealing to the eye.

“Over the last decade, we’ve witnessed friends and family deal with emergencies across the country. From floods in Florida to storm surges along the coast to fires destroying years of memories, the resulting anguish, anxiety, and vulnerability are a shared traumatic experience—and we wanted to find a way to help,” Simon Huck founder and CEO of Judy, tells Glamour.

After consulting with preparedness experts and emergency first responders for months, Huck and his team devised four kinds of kits, each uniquely tailored to address household safety needs. From The Starter fanny pack to the fully stocked The Safe, each kit is equipped with multipurpose essentials—think individually packaged tools; medical supplies for bumps, bruises, or burns; food; water; and worksheets that make it easy to create a personalized safety plan. (And while the brand doesn’t have a kit specifically designed for the coronavirus, The Safe, The Mover, and The Mover Max contain dust masks that are included in the CDC recommendation. Plus, the brand addressed coronavirus preparedness in this Instagram post that went up on their feed before social distancing went into effect.)

But buying an emergency kit doesn’t immediately keep you safe. It’s knowing how to use what’s inside that makes all the difference—and that’s what the brand says separates its kits from others on the market. “Judy is the first digitally-connected emergency kit, supported by the tools and resources to use the supplies effectively,” Huck says. There is also a text-based program you can opt into to ask questions of experts and get answers in real time. (FYI: You don’t have to be a Judy customer to enroll in this program.)

It’s worth mentioning too that at a time when many fashion and beauty companies have either pivoted production to make face masks or sanitizer or are donating a portion of their proceeds for COVID-19 relief, Huck says it’s lending support to the front-line workers—from a donation of 25,000 N95 masks to the New York State Department of Health to an upcoming donation of 1,000 N95 masks to the NYPD officers patrolling the city’s streets.

Where to buy a first aid kit

Aside from Judy, there are plenty of other retailers with first aid kits still in stock. Before adding to cart, make sure you’re buying the right kit for your needs—be it a compact emergency kit for one or a family-size option. It’s important to read the content specs since not all kits are built the same. Some may contain gloves and hand sanitizer but may not have masks or other supplies you need—so always double-check that what you’re buying is right for you.

Where to Buy Face Masks Online Right Now

Practicing social distancing and staying home is the best thing you can do to slow the spread of COVID-19, but if you do have to leave the house, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advises you to cover your face beforehand. With this new recommendation, everyone is rushing to find out where to buy face masks, so we went ahead and rounded up some options below—and we’ll keep updating this list as companies go in and out of stock.

With the most devastating weeks of the pandemic expected ahead, the CDC recommends all Americans use a face covering even if they’re not experiencing symptoms—because asymptomatic carriers can unknowingly pass on the virus in public places like grocery stores and pharmacies. If you haven’t acquired a cloth mask yet, now is the time, and brands are stepping up to produce them for citizens, essential workers, and medical professionals.

It’s important to note that cloth masks are not a viable replacement for N95 respirators or surgical masks, and any nonmedical worker in possession of medical-grade masks should consider donating them to a local hospital to help those on the front lines. Cloth face masks don’t guarantee you won’t contract or pass the virus on, but they’re a voluntary public health measure we should all seriously consider, especially in hot spots like New York City, New Orleans, and Detroit. If you’re unsure of where to buy face masks for yourself or your family, shop the brands below—but be aware that overwhelming demand could result in weeks-long delivery time. In the interim, you can make your own mask out of a pillowcase, dish cloth, or bandana, because even a makeshift face cover is a vital step to help protect yourself and your community.

Sanctuary

Sanctuary is creating a line of Essential Lifestyle Masks, with proceeds that will allow the company to produce medical-grade masks for the health care professionals who need them. The Lifestyle masks are available for preorder and will ship the week of April 19.

5 Best Online Dating Sites to Find Love Even in Quarantine

Really, age is nothing but a number when it comes to online dating sites and apps. As long as you’re a consenting adult you can feel free to sign up for them all. However, if you’re a person over 40 looking for matches who are over the age of 40 as well there is no better place to be than Match.

Not only is it a true O.G. when it comes to dating websites, but it also boasts an impressive over 40 userbase. In 2019, Match.com shared with The New York Post, 69 percent of its userbase is between the ages of 39 and 74. The rest, the website said, are millennials.

How it works: Like OkCupid, the user journey at Match starts by signing up on the website. Then, users fill out their profile including a photo and short bio section. Next, users are asked to fill in a questionnaire about their likes and dislikes, political views, lifestyle habits, and more.

Price: Match does not come with a free version, however, it does come with several subscription plans including $38.99 for one month, $20.99 per month for three months, $18.99 per month for six months, or $17.99 per month for a year. Picking a plan is required for signup.

3. Best for future globe-trotters: Tinder

Now’s the perfect time to find love and a little bit of wanderlust with Tinder. The famed dating app is usually well-known for its quick hookup potential with others in a user’s surrounding area, however, right now, Tinder is taking swiping global.

Tinder announced it’s now offering its premium Passport feature, which typically costs between $9.99 to $19.99 per month, for free to all of its users. The feature offers users the option to swipe left or right on anyone on the app anywhere in the world.

“Our hope is that you use the Passport feature to virtually transport yourself out of self-quarantine to anywhere in the world,” the app said in a statement. “You can check in on folks in their hometown, college town, or sister city, and find those across the world who are going through the same things. If nothing else, you can learn how to say ‘hey’ in another language.” Who knows, maybe you’ll meet the love of your life now and go on a global adventure together later.

How it works: In case you’ve never opened the app, Tinder again asks users to sign up with a name and email as well as a location. Next, users create a bio and add some photos. Then, all that’s left to do is swipe left (no interest) or right (interested) on all the people around you.

Verishop Is Our New Favorite Online Store—And It’s Perfect for Last-Minute Gifts

With less than a week before Christmas, anyone who hasn’t checked off their holiday gift list is probably biting their nails and ruining a perfectly festive manicure. There are trees to trim, New Year’s Eve outfits to buy, and shows to binge, so we get it if you totally forgot about your loved ones. Lucky for you, Mercury is not in retrograde and your Christmas miracle has landed in the form of our new favorite online store, Verishop.

The mission of Verishop, launched in June by former Snap executive Imran Khan, is to help brands get their products into the hands of consumers faster and easier—and to relieve some of the frustrations shoppers have had with larger e-commerce businesses (cough, free returns or nothing, cough). How do we love thee, Verishop? Let us count the ways brands: There’s everything from Free People to Levi’s to Vince and Agolde for women. Boll & Branch, Smeg, Staub, and more for your home. And Bioderma, Oribe, Perricone MD, Supergoop, and Tata Harper for your beauty shelf. Trust us, the list goes on, with products from over 350 brands to add to cart.

But perhaps the best thing about Verishop—never mind the expertly curated products—is the company’s shipping policy. It bests Amazon Prime’s two-day shipping, which we never thought was possible. At Verishop you get free one-day shipping and free returns. We know.

On top of it all, everything on the site is 20% off with the code HOLIDAY20. Meaning, there’s no better time to get yourself acquainted with the selection. Whether you’re shopping for yourself or someone else, we went ahead and picked the 21 best things you can buy today and have tomorrow—or if you’re cutting even closer to the holiday, order by midnight on December 22 to have by December 25. See and shop everything, below.
