Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Literally Gifted a Photo of Themselves on Their Royal Tour

Real talk: I’d 100 percent frame a photo of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry in my apartment. And, apparently, I’m not alone on this front. News came out in May that Queen Elizabeth II has a never-before-seen pic of the couple framed in her sitting room. The stunning shot features Prince Harry in a navy tux and Markle in a powder-blue dress, her hand resting over his chest. For a while, people thought Queen Elizabeth II was the only one who had it, but according to Hello!, Markle and Prince Harry actually gifted this same photo to dignitaries on their royal tour of New Zealand, Australia, Fiji, and Tonga. Yes, my friends: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are really out here giving photos of themselves to people as presents.

Hello! sources a fan on Twitter, who uploaded a photo of the framed shot sitting inside Wellington, New Zealand’s Government House. It’s without a doubt the same photo of Markle and Prince Harry that Queen Elizabeth has in Buckingham Palace. Check it out for yourself, below. (Look in the background.)

I one day hope to achieve the legend status of someone who can seriously gift a photo of themselves to people, and it’s received warmly and enthusiastically. I can only imagine how this conversation went with the dignitaries:

Prince Harry: Thank you so much for having us in New Zealand.

Meghan Markle: Yes, thank you! Here’s a framed photo of us looking hot AF to show you our appreciation.

Random Dignitary: This is the greatest gift I’ve ever received in my life.

This is a fictional conversation, but I want it to be true for my life! What do I have to do to achieve that? Wear a messy bun? I’ll wear a messy bun!

Prince Harry Gifted Meghan Markle a Super-Romantic Piece of Art

By now, we’ve learned that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle aren’t afraid to show off their affection. But even in the early days of their married relationship, it seems they’ve still been really into grand sweeping gestures, with Prince Harry reportedly doing things like buying the new Duchess of Sussex original artwork by British artist Van Donna.

Last year, People had reported that in 2016, Prince Harry bought artwork in the VIP section of London’s Walton Fine Arts Gallery. A local collector allegedly said that Prince Harry was looking for something to give “an important person” and dropped a few thousand on Van Donna’s Everybody Needs Somebody To Love—basically a prince’s version of handing his crush a varsity letter jacket.

The piece is made up of two panels: One is the title text while the other features a black stencil of a boy and girl, walking hand in hand. Days later, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle went public with their relationship, so we’re guessing she may have liked her present.

The couple is apparently very into art, so it makes sense that Prince Harry picked something by Van Donna, a rising pop artist. The artist uses a pseudonym that’s a mash-up of her two heroes, Van Gogh and Madonna, and she often explores themes of love and romance in her work. A lot of her style has been likened to Banksy and Andy Warhol.

Although an original of Everybody Needs Somebody is pretty much impossible to get without spending a small fortune, prints are available starting at £199, or about $264.

Meghan Markle Wore Earrings Gifted to Her by Queen Elizabeth II on Their First Joint Royal Outing

This morning the world became acquainted with its new favorite duo, Queen Elizabeth and Meghan Markle, as they rode the royal train together to their first official engagement in Cheshire, England. And it seems they commemorated this outing with a very special gift, spotted on none other than Her Royal Highness Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex.

For this joint appearance, the Duchess wore a custom Givenchy Haute Couture dress and bag with Sarah Flint heels. But royal enthusiasts quickly noticed her jewelry—notably, a pair of small pearl and diamond earrings.

Soon enough, word got around (via the group of royal correspondents assembled to cover the event) that the elegant accessory was actually gifted to the newly minted Duchess by the Queen. According to British outlets The Sun and The Daily Mail, the earrings were plucked straight from her personal collection.

The classic diamond-accented design does have a vintage flair that aligns with pieces you’d expect to see from the Queen’s archives. (Side note: The Queen seems to really know Markle’s aesthetic—the earrings fit right in with the Duchess’s polished style, and compliment her custom Givenchy look quite nicely.) To receive such a unique gift from your grandmother-in-law sure does seem like a glamorous sign of approval.

The Queen Just Gifted Prince Harry and Meghan Markle the Vacation House of Dreams

A lot of newlyweds would probably kill for a house of their own as they begin their marriage—but royals being royals, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have not one, but three. They’ve apparently rented a “love nest” in the gorgeous Cotswolds along with their cottage on Kensington Palace grounds—but the latest digs come as a gift from Queen Elizabeth, and it happens to be the perfectly lovely York Cottage.

The house is located on the grounds of Sandringham Estate, where family tends to hang out: The Queen has one of her favorite homes on the property, and she gave Prince William and Kate Middleton Anmer Hall after they got married.

Meghan and Harry’s new digs date all the way back to King Edward VII, who gave it to his son, the future King George V in 1893. According to Metro, it’s been called “eccentric” and is “said to resemble ‘three Merrie England pubs joined together,’ which all sounds pretty great?

Of course, the “cottage” is a cottage only to a royal, as it’s pretty massive. Currently it’s both a holiday home and the central office for Sandringham staff—so there might be a few renovations in store for the newlyweds to make it their own. Check it this timelessly charming pic of it:

As Metro points out, York Cottage once had a now fairly ironic nickname: the Bachelor’s Cottage.

Don’t expect the couple to move in just yet, though: They live—and will probably continue to live—in Nottingham Cottage. According to Metro, the Queen knew Harry and Meghan would need to get away from it all, and thusly gifted them another cottage (one can never have too many).
