People Are Actually Shaming Kate Middleton's Baby Bump


Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, made her first appearance since announcing her third pregnancy yesterday at Buckingham Palace. (She, Prince William, and Prince Harry were hosting an event honoring mental health workers.) She looked stunning, as always: The Duchess wore a power blue dress with lace sleeves, and royal Family fans even noticed—and freaked out over—the tiny baby bump visible.

But not everyone was nice about this. Because it’s 2017 and the Internet exists, the appearance of the Duchess’ baby bump also brought out the haters. Several people flocked to social media to criticize Middleton’s slim figure and the fact that her baby bump isn’t larger. Cringe, cringe, cringe.

Here are just a few of the awful comments we found:

  • “Really, Is she pregnant?”

  • “[She] doesn’t even look pregnant.”

  • “Of course she doesn’t look pregnant.”

  • “She hardly looks preg!”

  • “I can’t believe she’s prego, she looks too thin.”

  • “Malnourished anorexic”

  • “Emaciated”

Ugh, people really are the worst. This should go without saying, but people’s bodies should never be up for discussion—especially pregnant women. All women carry their pregnancies differently. Just because the Duchess isn’t showing more doesn’t make her any less pregnant. And on the flip-side: A woman isn’t necessarily unhealthy if she gains more weight than expected during a pregnancy. It varies from body to body—and the fact people think it’s their place to give commentary about this is beyond disgusting.

Kylie Jenner and Khloé Kardashian are going through something similar right now, too. They’re both rumored to be pregnant, and the Internet can’t stop scrutinizing their body, their clothes…everything. Kardashian recently shut down people on social media who thought her arm placement in this photo indicated she’s expecting.

“This is a peplum shirt,” she wrote. “It flairs [sic] out at the bottom. It’s just the way the shirt is designed. In some of the next pictures coming up from the SAME shoot, I’m in a crop top. Showing a lot of skin…”

Kim Kardashian Just Confirmed She's Having a Baby Via Surrogate


It’s official: Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are expecting a third child via surrogate.

Kardashian essentially confirmed this news in a just-released promo for Keeping Up With the Kardashians season 14. “What happens every time I say, ‘Guess what?'” Kim asks her sister, Khloé, via FaceTime in the promo.

“You’re pregnant…or the person’s pregnant,” Khloé’s says in response, presumably talking about Kim and Kanye’s surrogate.

And that’s when the selfie maverick herself confirms it: “We’re having a baby,” she says, before the promo abruptly ends. A classic Kardashian tease!

Watch this exchange happen in the promo, below. It starts around the 47-second mark.

This is the first Kardashian-Jenner baby rumor the family has confirmed. There are reports swirling around right now that both Kylie Jenner and Khloé are pregnant with their first children. The predominant theory dominating the Internet is that the sisters will address these stories on the premiere of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, which is this Sunday (October 1) at 9 P.M. EST on E!

Kim has been open about her fertility struggles on Keeping Up With the Kardashians. She suffered from placenta accreta after her second pregnancy, a condition where the placenta and uterine wall bind too tightly.

“My doctor had to stick his entire arm in me and detach the placenta with his hand, scraping it away from my uterus with his fingernails,” Kim wrote in her blog about the condition. “My mom was crying; she had never seen anything like this before. My delivery was fairly easy, but then going through that—it was the most painful experience of my life! They gave me a second epidural but we were racing against time, so I just had to deal.”

On an episode of the show, Kim told her friend Jonathan Cheban, “I can’t carry anymore kids…it’s the worst. It’s not going to be happy for me…I had a full break down…I give up.”

But we’re happy she didn’t give up on her desire to expand her family. Congrats to Kim and Kanye!

Kate and Will Are Expecting Royal Baby No. 3!

Finally something good is happening in the world: another royal baby is on the way! Catherine “Kate” Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, mother of two, wife to Prince William, hair icon, and future Queen of England, is pregnant with her and Prince William’s third child, according to a statement released by Kensington Palace on Monday morning.

“Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their third child,” said the statement, before continuing: “The Queen and members of both families are delighted with the news. Um, we are, too! Is it weird for us Americans to be so happy for them? They’re cute! We like it!

The palace’s statement was released early—Kate is reportedly less than three months along—to explain the cancellation of a public appearance.

As with her previous two pregnancies, the duchess has really severe morning sickness. “The Duchess is suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum,” read the statement. “Her Royal Highness will no longer carry out her planned engagement at the Hornsey Road Children’s Centre in London today.” As before, she is receiving care at Kensington Palace.

As you’re probably aware, Prince William and Kate Middleton are already parents to Prince George, who is 4 and will start school this Thursday, and Princess Charlotte, who is 2 and has the distinction of being the cutest little girl in the dang world—even when she’s being a little fussy (as 2-year-olds are!). (Also, for you really hardcore royal-watchers at home: no, a baby brother would not displace Princess Charlotte in the line of succession, thanks to a law passed in 2011.)

Earlier this summer, in Warsaw, the Duchess joked about having more children when a fan handed her a toy for a newborn, saying, “We will just have to have more babies.” Thank you for keeping your promises, Will and Kate, and congratulations!

Serena Williams Gives Birth to a Baby Girl


Serena Williams has a lot to celebrate in her life: She’s the world’s greatest athlete, she gets paid, she found love in a hopeless place (that would be Reddit), she can make a $50 Zara dress look designer, and she’s broken so many world records you’d think there wouldn’t be any left. Now, she officially adds another accomplishment to the list: new mom.

Williams and her fiancé, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, have welcomed a baby girl, according to Chris Shepherd of WPBF 25 in West Palm Beach, Florida. No word yet on the baby’s name, but she reportedly weighs 6 pounds, 13 ounces and “mom and baby [are] doing well.”

Williams’ friend, THE Beyoncé, even congratulated the tennis pro on Instagram shortly after the announcement:

Ever since she accidentally revealed her baby bump on Snapchat (as you do), Williams has been open about her pregnancy with her fans, even turning to her Twitter followers for advice on how to turn over at night and hilariously documenting her “baby 101” class on Snapchat.

Williams (and her bump) also posed nude for the legendary Annie Leibovitz for the cover of Vanity Fair; in the accompanying interview, she revealed how much the pregnancy took her by surprise. “It just doesn’t seem real. I don’t know why. Am I having a baby?” she said. “If you would have told me last year in October or November that I would have a baby, not be pregnant but have a baby, I would have thought you were the biggest liar in the world. This is kind of how I am right now. This is happening sooner than later, and it’s going by so fast.” She added, “I don’t know what to do with a baby.”

We think she’ll be just fine, given the beautiful open letter she wrote to her unborn child in honor of Ohanian’s birthday. “My Dearest Baby, you gave me the strength I didn’t know I had,” she wrote on Instagram. “You taught me the true meaning of serenity and peace. I can’t wait to meet you. I can’t wait for you to join the players box next year. But most importantly, I am so happy to share being number one in the world with you…once again today. On @alexisohanian bday. From the world’s oldest number one to the world’s youngest number one. -Your Mommy”
