Rose Leslie Literally Doesn't Have Time to Marry Kit Harington

Game of Thrones fans let out a collective, “awww” a few months ago when news broke about Kit Harington and Rose Leslie’s engagement. The two co-stars confirmed in September they’re tying the knot via a formal announcement in London’s Times newspaper. “The engagement is announced between Kit, younger son of David and Deborah Harington of Worcestershire,” read the announcement, which was retweeted and shared thousands of times on social media.

The months since then have been filled with stories about Harington and Leslie’s relationship and engagement. Harington revealed in October that he actually messed up his proposal to Leslie. “I did have some plans to do it; I was going to string up some lights in some trees and do all the romantic stuff, but we were in the country and we were under this beautiful night sky and had a log fire burning and red wine, and…I popped my question a bit early,” he said, according to The Sun. Later, he revealed Game of Thrones will actually have to shut down for their wedding because…everyone’s invited.

So when are these actual nuptials happening? Well, according to Leslie’s new interview with Town & Country, it might be a while. The actress joked to the publication that she’s trying to “fit in” her wedding with the hectic GoT filming schedule. “I haven’t tackled it,” she said. “There’s just too much to do.”

Which is understandable. Wedding planning is no joke—even for people who aren’t on a hit HBO series. Fingers crossed it happens some time in 2018, though, so we can have two royal weddings.
