Chrissy Teigen Just Trolled John Legend About Playing Jesus in 'Jesus Christ Superstar'

This morning, NBC announced that John Legend will play the titular role of Jesus Christ in its live musical production of Jesus Christ Superstar. It’s a casting decision that’s both exciting and makes complete sense. First of all, Legend has an incredible set of pipes, so he’ll no doubt be able to sing any tune the musical throws his way. Also, he’s angelic AF. Take one look at his wife Chrissy Teigen’s Instagram, and you’ll see just how perfect of a human Mr. Legend is. He could probably walk on water if he set his mind to it. Every person who’s ever played the Messiah is shaking in their gladiator sandals, TBH.

One person who’s cool as a cucumber, though, is Teigen. Of course, Teigen is probably proud that Legend landed such a great part, but she didn’t pass up an opportunity to troll him about it on Twitter.

“Bless up. I’m playing Jesus Christ in #JesusChristSuperstar Live! coming to @NBC this April,” Legend tweeted Monday afternoon. Shortly after, Teigen replied with the shadiest, funniest message (in, like, a loving way). “How are they gonna fit u in the manger,” Teigen wrote. Check out their hilarious exchange for yourself, below:

Now all I’m picturing is Legend’s face on a baby’s body—which actually sounds pretty adorable. One fan even offered up this side-splitting visual:

If you know Teigen’s social media presence well, then this tweet probably isn’t a surprise. She’s always trolling Legend—playfully. Remember when she roasted him the day after she literally gave birth?

Or when she harmlessly dragged him for playing a concert?

The list goes on an on. Here’s hoping Teigen’s live tweets during Jesus Christ Superstar are just as funny as this one.
