Jennifer Lawrence Wants to Take an Acting Break and Milk Goats on a Farm
Jennifer Lawrence has starred in 17 movies since her big break in the Oscar-winning Winter’s Bone just seven years ago in 2010—which averages out to a whopping three movies each year! Considering we’re exhausted just reading that, we don’t blame her for saying she’s looking forward to taking a break from work.
In Elle magazine’s November issue, Lawrence got candid about what she intends to do with her time off. Travel the world? Spend time in her native state of Kentucky? Finally binge-watch Stranger Things? Nope, none of those relaxing things are on Lawrence’s list. Rather, she wants to get back to nature—well, in a way.
“I want to get a farm,” she told Elle. “I want to be, like, milking goats.”
Lawrence, who was the world’s highest paid actress in 2016, has indeed cleared off her slate a bit. According to IMDb, she’s wrapped Red Sparrow, a thriller directed by Hunger Games franchise director Francis Lawrence, and the next X-Men installment (reportedly her last). Once the press for those is over, the only other project she’s announced is Bad Blood, a biopic of the life of Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes—though there’s no date attached to it yet.
She also spoke on the Today Show in September about wanting to take a break from acting—though her plans then were for pottery, not milking goats (both sound kind of relaxing, TBH). However, she admitted that she doesn’t like taking time off.
“I’m taking one [a break]. I don’t have anything set for two years. I don’t know [what to do]. I don’t know, start making pots? I think I’m just taking a little break. I’ll see you in six months,” Lawrence joked.
Other plans for her break? She’s focusing on political activism through grassroots anti-corruption nonprofit, Represent.Us—and, more than likely, spending a little time on the couch keeping up with the Kardashians.
