Yellow Is the Biggest Color Trend for Spring 2019, According to Fashion Week

Usually, to deem something in fashion a “trend,” three or four designers need to hop on the bandwagon. But every so often (or, more specifically, season), it feels like everyone is on the same page about a certain thing—and anyone following the Spring 2019 runways during New York Fashion Week could easily spot what that thing is for next season: the color yellow.

Throughout the week, editors and critics remarked on how different shades of yellow kept coming up on the runways and at presentations. Our (admittedly not comprehensive) tally has about 20 different designers incorporating the cheery hue into their Spring 2019 collections—from Self-Portrait, Kate Spade New York, and Lela Rose to Adeam, Brandon Maxwell, and Monse. Ahead of Fashion Week, Pantone decreed a marigold called Aspen Gold as the yellow for the season, but, really, there are plenty of different shades represented, from paler or darker to more lime-y…

The best part about a clear Fashion Week color trend, though, is that, unlike specific silhouettes or pieces you see on and like from the runway, you don’t have to wait six months to shop it: Ahead, check out some of the best, Spring 2019-ready yellow pieces for under $100 to start incorporating into your wardrobe now.
