Your Horoscope for the Week of January 6, 2020

The power of the mighty crustation is symbolized by this week’s full moon eclipse in Cancer. Be propelled by your soft-centered care factor and use those pincers to snip out anything messing with your emotional nourishment and security. Channel the hard shell of the crab Goddess by moving to protect yourself and those you consider under your care. Like Tina Turner sang, ‘we need another hero’, and that matriarchal Shero might be you! Embrace your ability to make a difference in your life and others, no matter how big or small. Read on to discover what’s in store for your sign during the week of January 6 through to January 12, 2020, and double down by getting to know your rising sign.

Aries | Aries rising

If your heart is tied up in your home this full moon will bring push to shove so rise to the challenge. It calls you to let go of something in terms of home and your particular approach to family, to create a base that can support you emotionally. The ease of course correcting is directly in response to your resistance but they are necessary and important. Your career is the area that benefits from the changes you make so take the next steps so you are in control of that change. Perhaps you’ve needed to extricate yourself from a situation that’s been pressing so loosening things up will give you the freedom you’ll need for 2020. There’s a freedom in exercising your power and taking back control to decide on, plan and initiate your destiny.

Your Horoscope for the Week of January 6 2020
Your Horoscope for the Week of January 6 2020

Taurus | Taurus rising

Taurus your sign is correlated with the throat area so when you don’t speak up and express yourself this tends to be the first port of call for imbalance. This week pay extra attention to what’s in your mind and make sure your thoughts are making it down the neural pipeline to your vocal cords and you pipe up. Say what’s on your mind to who you need to say it. Expressing your feelings helps to unstick any stagnant emotional waters when you take responsibility for what’s yours, while not taking on what isn’t. Make a boundary between ideas you’ve accumulated and what you can incorporate into your world view. A change in communication is key this week, what does that look and feel like for you?

Friends Is Leaving Netflix for Good in January 2020

The day many Netflix users have dreaded for months is finally upon us: We now know when Friends is leaving the streaming platform.

This isn’t a total surprise, as the announcement that the show would move to Warner Bros. new streaming platform HBO Max came in July—but that doesn’t make it any less of a bummer. Plus, HBO Max isn’t slated to launch until the spring. That means there will be a few months without your Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Chandler, Joey, and Ross fix.

As of January 1, 2020, Friends will no longer be streaming on the platform, according to the recently updated “availability” section on the show’s official landing page. HBO Max’s official launch date has not been announced yet.

“HBO Max will bring together the diverse riches of WarnerMedia to create programming and user experiences not seen before in a streaming platform,” WarnerMedia Entertainment and direct-to-consumer chairman Robert Greenblatt said about the acquisition at the time. “HBO’s world-class programming leads the way, the quality of which will be the guiding principle for our new array of Max Originals, our exciting acquisitions, and the very best of the Warner Bros. libraries, starting with the phenomenon that is Friends. Under the leadership of two of the strongest creative visionaries—Casey Bloys (HBO) and Kevin Reilly (original content and acquisitions)—and two of the most experienced digital experts, Tony Goncalves and Andy Forssell, I have no doubt they and their dedicated teams will deliver the world’s best storytelling to audiences of all ages wherever and whenever they want it.”

But your Friends will still be there for you through the holidays, thank goodness. So get your fill of Smelly Cat, Ugly Naked Guy, Mrs. Chanandler Bong, and all that ’90s fashion while you can and take heart in the news that a reunion special is reportedly in the works for HBO Max.

“We would love for there to be something,” Jennifer Aniston recently told Ellen DeGeneres. “But we don’t know what that something is. So we’re just trying. We’re working on something.”

Unfortunately, there aren’t many new TV shows and movies premiering this week. Most of the mid-season returns have already happened, and it will be a minute before that rush of new spring programming comes in. But in the meantime there are a few new offerings from Netflix, plus awards season glamour and some oldies-but-goodies leaving your streaming queues very soon. If you find yourself with some downtime this week, consider watching any (or all) of these shows and films.

25th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards: Megan Mullally will host this year’s ceremony, with all the usual suspects from awards season expected to attend, like Lady Gaga, Mahershala Ali, and Amy Adams. 8 P.M. ET on TBS/TNT

Rent: The “live musical” genre expands with this production of Rent, most notably featuring Vanessa Hudgens and Tinashe. 7 P.M. ET on Fox
