Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Falchuk Confirm Their Engagement in New Issue of 'Goop' Magazine

2018 is off to a great start for Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Falchuk. Not only are they the cover stars of Goop magazine’s second edition, but inside the new “Sex & Love”-themed issue, they’re finally confirming their engagement.

The magazine, which goes on sale this week, attacks its romantic theme from all angles. The issue’s main story is a “deeply personal conversation” between Paltrow and relationship psychologist Esther Perel about finding love the second time around. Elsewhere in the mag, besides features on romantic getaways, couple’s therapy, and “luxurious, toxin-free yoni products,” Jean Godfrey-June writes about the “intense and often fleeting energy” of crushes, and Jancee Dunn shares an essay about “the sad reality of the orgasm gap.” And in an accompanying online video, Falchuk will take Goop’s signature “How Goopy Are You?” quiz.

The cover of the magazine shows a beamin Paltrow being embraced from behind by Falchuk. In another image from the cover shoot, captured by Steven Pan, Falchuk holds Paltrow close and kisses her on the cheek while she grins at the camera and positions her hand just so to show off her engagement ring, which looks to be a simple band set with a huge circular gemstone.

Inside the second issue of her namesake magazine, Paltrow opens up about her “conscious uncoupling” from Chris Martin and impending second marriage to Falchuk. “Personally, at midlife, I have tried to accept how complex romantic love can be. I have decided to give it a go again, not only because I believe I have found the man I was meant to be with, but because I have accepted the soul-stretching, pattern-breaking opportunities that (terrifyingly) are made possible by intimacy,” she writes about Falchuk. “For the first time, I feel like I’m in an adult relationship that is sometimes very uncomfortable—because he sort of demands a certain level of intimacy and communication that I haven’t been held to before. What came up in the first couple of years of our relationship was how incapable I was in this realm—how I feared intimacy and communication.”

Ahead of their official engagement announcement inside Vol. 2 of Goop—and several weeks after Entertainment Tonight reported that they’ve actually been engaged for over a year—Paltrow and Falchuk confirmed the big news to Good Morning America on Monday. “We feel incredibly lucky to have come together at this juncture in our lives when our collective successes and failures can serve as building blocks for a healthy and happy relationship,” they said in a joint statement.

Read all about Paltrow and Falchuk’s relationship in the “Love & Sex” issue of Goop, available on newsstands and online on Tuesday, January 9 for $14.99.

Gwyneth Paltrow Had Brunch With Her Ex-Husband and Her New Boyfriend

Usually when I see that Gwyneth Paltrow is trending, I—as an OG Gwynnie stan—brace myself for a barrage of GP Internet hate. To say the actress turned lifestyle entrepreneur is polarizing would be a ridiculous understatement. It seems like every month or so, GOOP will publish a story that lights up the online world. Remember the great jade egg controversy of 2017?

More recently the press has been kinder. Paltrow was one of the women who came forward early in the Harvey Weinstein scandal to detail her own harassment by the movie mogul at the beginning of her career. And now people are obsessing over her latest Instagram post in a super-positive way.

As we all know, Paltrow “consciously uncoupled” from her husband and father of her two children, Chris Martin, back in 2014. But by all accounts, they’ve stayed super close and are spotted together often. Just last week it was rumored that Paltrow is engaged to her boyfriend Brad Falchuk. So her latest Instagram post of the two men in her life is probably going to add fuel to that fire.

Yesterday Paltrow posted a photo of Martin and Falchuk with the caption, “Sunday brunch #modernfamily”.

And people are loving it. Including celebrity friends like Chrissy Teigen and Reese Witherspoon. True to form, Teigen cracked wise with, “I hope this is me @johnlegend and my husband one day” following it up with “Jk love you @johnlegend for now.” Reese, ever the Southern girl, wrote, “? ❤️ “.

Followers and fans shared stories of their own modern families in the comments and expressed gratitude for Paltrow setting such a great example, one saying “Yes. That’s how grown-ups roll. You share your kids and get along!” We wholeheartedly agree.

Who knew that all it took was one Instagram photo to finally make Gwyneth Paltrow relatable?

Gwyneth Paltrow Is Reportedly Engaged to Brad Falchuk

Roll out the Goop-approved floral arrangements: Us Weekly reports that Gwyneth Paltrow and television producer Brad Falchuk are engaged after three years of dating.

“Multiple sources” tell the tabloid that Paltrow and Falchuk have been discussing marriage over the past year, and now things are officially official. “They both knew it would happen, but it wasn’t a big thing to them because they were both in long marriages before,” one source said to Us Weekly. “There wasn’t a rush.”

Don’t expect an announcement from the couple any time soon, though. Another source tells Us Weekly Paltrow is waiting to confirm the news on her website. However, Paltrow and Falchuk have reportedly already taken engagement photos. Fingers crossed there’s a picture of her and Falchuk rolling around in a field of tomatoes, the world’s most “high-maintenance” fruit.

Paltrow and Falchuk first met in 2014 on the set of Glee, which he produced alongside Ryan Murphy. (Paltrow played substitute teacher Holly Holliday for five hilarious episodes.) The duo made their relationship public in September 2015 when they attended the Los Angeles premiere of Scream Queens.

Paltrow hasn’t said much about her relationship with Falchuk, but she did post an Instagram photo with him in November 2016 and captioned it, “I could not be more grateful for these people and those not pictured who bring love and laughs and heart to my life.” She wished him a happy birthday in March 2017, as well.

“I think [Paltrow] just supports everything I do, thankfully,” Falchuk told Us Weekly in 2015, adding that their relationship was going “great” at the time. Looks like it stayed that way!

Congratulations, guys! Can’t wait to see the $5,000 velvet crush invitations.
