Billy Eichner and Tiffany Haddish Want to Do a 'Woke' Remake of 'Hocus Pocus'

Who better to update Hocus Pocus in 2018 than Billy Eichner and Tiffany Haddish? That was the basic premise behind the latest episode of Billy on the Street, the man-on-the-street quiz show that features Eichner and his famous pals basically accosting New York City civilians all in the name of pop culture. In other words: Best. Show. Ever.

This episode featured Eichner and Haddish casting themselves as two of the witches in a hypothetical, more inclusive remake of the Halloween classic, which they fittingly dubbed Wokus Pocus. Once that’s settled, they set out in search of the a third witch to complete the trifecta, and hilarity ensues.

Among the candidates that are briefly auditioned are a Brazilian woman (an encounter that lets Haddish show off her excellent Samba skills), a Chinese woman (which prompts Eichner to come up with her own spin-off called Crazy Witch Asians), and a Colombian man. The only thing we can’t abide by in this otherwise delightful video is the shade that Eichner then throws at Kathy Najimy, one of the witches in the original Hocus Pocus coven. After the man informs Eichner and Haddish that their movie needs some Latin Flavor, Eichner says, “You’ve definitely got more flavor than Kathy Najimy, I’ll tell you that much.” Um, no.

That comment notwithstanding, we would definitely pay money to watch Eichner and Haddish in Wokus Pocus. Come to think of it, we’d line up to watch these two in anything. Are you listening, Hollywood?

Watch This: 'Hocus Pocus' Comes on 6 Times This Week

We’re three weeks into October, and you know what that means: Hocus Pocus is playing around the clock on television. Thanks to Freeform’s 13 Nights of Halloween, you can watch the beloved, witchy classic dozens of times; in fact, this week it’s playing six times alone. Check out the specific times, below, along with the other TV shows and movies to earmark for the next few days.

Sunday, October 22

The Walking Dead: Ezekiel and the Kingdom have officially joined forces with Rick to take out Negan and the Saviors. (Remember, Negan brutally murdered both Abraham and Glenn last season, so Rick has more than a bone to pick.) Expect lots of blood, violence, and yes, zombies. They’re still battling these damn zombies eight seasons in. 9 P.M. ET on AMC

Hocus Pocus: Your Halloween favorite comes on six—yes, six—times this week. Honestly, what’s better than watching Bette Midler and Sarah Jessica Parker scare awful teens multiple times? (Nothing. The answer is nothing.) 12 P.M. ET and 9:15 P.M. ET on Freeform

(You also watch Hocus Pocus on Freeform this week on these dates: October 25 at 6:30 P.M. ET; October 27 at 2:25 P.M. ET and midnight ET; and October 28 at 5:10 P.M. ET)

Monday, October 23

Scared Famous: This is essentially scary Big Brother: 10 reality TV celebrities move into a haunted house, and shenanigans ensue. The only thing more satisfying than watching hot people get drunk and fight is watching them do it with ghosts lurking. 9 P.M. ET on VH1

The Nightmare Before Christmas: It’s the Tim Burton animated movie of your childhood: Jack Skellington is over celebrating Halloween every day, so he kidnaps Santa and steals his job. It’s oddly terrifying, and also very entertaining. 9:20 P.M. ET on Freeform

Tuesday, October 24

Wanted: This heart-pumping Australian series centers on two strangers who become friends after they intervene in a fatal car-jacking. Available on Netflix

Drop the Mic: Watch celebrities out-rap each other in this new series based on James Corden’s Late Late Show segment. Method Man and Hailey Baldwin host. 10:30 P.M. ET on TBS

Wednesday, October 25

The Hateful Eight: Quentin Tarantino’s polarizing Western mystery, starring Samuel L. Jackson and Kurt Russel, will be available on Netflix starting today. Check it out to see where you stand. Available on Netflix

The Addams Family: Listen, it’s hard to find a film that beats this one. Anjelica Huston as Morticia? Christina Ricci as Wednesday? This stacked cast breathes new life (or shall we say death) into this delightfully macabre pop-culture family. 2:25 P.M. ET on Freeform

Thursday, October 26

Dark Shadows: After getting buried alive by a scorned witch, a playboy (Johnny Depp) emerges hundreds of years later to find his town (naturally) completely different. It’s weird, but Depp fans should definitely tune in. 8:20 P.M. ET on Freeform

Jeepers Creepers: Oof. This horror film, about two siblings who’re plagued by a man-eating monster on a road trip, will make you never want to drive your car again. It’s worth it, though: Justin Long’s in this one. 8 P.M. ET on AMC

Friday, October 27

Stranger Things 2: What happened to Eleven? Is the Demogorgon coming back? Will Winona Ryder start talking to Christmas lights again? Find all this out when one of Netflix’s most successful originals returns. Spooks ahead. Available on Netflix

The Ring: Naomi Watts stars in this now-classic flick about a videotape that kills you seven days after you watch it. The plot is convoluted, sure, but its scares still hold up—probably thanks to the girl who literally crawls out of the screen to do the deed. 8 P.M. ET on HBO

Saturday, October 28

All I See Is You: Blake Lively plays a blind woman who regains her sight, realizes her husband is a scrub, and starts living her best life. Sign us up. In theaters

Split: If you missed this film in theaters earlier this year, now’s your chance to watch. Fair warning: It’s creepy. (Three young girls are held captive by a man with multiple personalities.) 8 P.M. ET on HBO

Stephen King’s IT: If you’re obsessed with the It remake, definitely consider revisiting the 1990 miniseries, which has essentially the same plot but is dragged out for four hours. Pennywise, man. 7 P.M. ET on Spike
