Kate Middleton’s Latest Hairstyle Looks Like It’s Straight Out of ‘Game of Thrones’
If you drew a Venn diagram of the royals, Game of Thrones, and gorgeous braids, I would be firmly planted in the center, as these are all top on my list of interests in life. Apparently, Kate Middleton is as swept up in Thrones mania as the rest of us. She just arrived for an afternoon at the Chelsea Flower Show in a long, printed Erdem dress and her famous hair in a braided style that looks like it could have been inspired by Dany or Sansa.
Middleton was on hand to show off the “Back to Nature” garden she played a part in creating for the show, and I’m obsessed with the half-up, half-down braided style she chose for the occasion. It’s not often that we see her hair braided, but hopefully it’s going to be part of her summer vibe.
Check it out below, via shots from royal reporter Emily Andrews.
I’m not pulling this out of thin air either. Middleton and her husband, Prince William, have said in the past that they are GoT fans. Back in 2017, Tom Wlaschiha, who played Jaqen H’ghar—the person who trained Arya Stark in the ways of the Faceless Men—met the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and recalled part of his conversation with them to the Evening Standard. “They said they really liked Game of Thrones and have watched every [season]. They wanted spoilers but I said I couldn’t tell them,” Wlaschiha said. “I’m surprised they have time to watch such a long-running series.” (And it obviously makes a ton of sense for members of a royal family to be interested in a show about the rise and fall of dynasties and kingdoms.)
Just yesterday we saw new (adorable) photos of the Cambridges’ three children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. It should not go unnoticed that Charlotte is also sporting some great braids, just as her mom did today.
We love a Cambridge braid moment, but what we’d really like to know is what Middleton thought about the finale and whether or not she’s Team Sansa.
