Beyoncé Wore Brand-New Costumes for Her Second Coachella Performance
The first weekend of Coachella was downright historic thanks to Beyoncé’s two-hour long set. The 26 songs she performed, her reunion with Destiny’s Child, and of course the outfits, were all as fierce as Sasha Fierce herself. And her repeat performance for Coachella’s second weekend did not disappoint. The songs in her set stayed mostly the same as her first performance, according to fans on Twitter, but because Bey’s extra-ness knows no bounds, she totally switched up her costume game.
This weekend’s performance wasn’t live-streamed like last weekend’s, but her costumes tell the story. The old-gold-and-black looks, widely interpreted by fans as an homage to the first black fraternity, Alpha Phi Alpha, were replaced with a bright magenta theme. Never fear, though: Queen B’s new look still had her sorority letters emblazoned on the front. Best part: You can choose between the two colorways at her Beychella Pop-Up Store.

Bey also replaced the sequined camo costumes she and former bandmates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams wore for their Destiny’s Child reunion with head-to-toe silver sparkles for their second weekend together.

And she switched up her most regal look, which was inspired by Egyptian Queen Nefertiti. The first weekend’s interpretation stuck with the black-and-gold theme, while the second weekend’s look was pure platinum. Check out the back on her incredible cape:

Beyoncé also added two new looks to her performance: One was an all-black ensemble for her special performance of “Mi Gente” with J Balvin.

And Queen Bey brought husband Jay-Z on stage once again to perform with her. Last weekend, she wore a short-sleeve fishnet-style top with her sorority crest on it; this time she wore a sparkling pink sweater with the sorority crest on the front.

All of the looks were once again created by Balmain. The brand’s creative director, Olivier Rousteing, posed a sketch of the design for one of the band members on his Instagram with the caption, “BALMAIN X BEYONCÉ 21.04.2018.”
Jessica Alba managed to get some clips of the show, which she shared on Instagram for those of us who couldn’t be there to witness it in person (bless).
Just when we thought Bey’s Coachella performance couldn’t get any more iconic, she managed to raise the bar once again. All hail Queen B; all hail #Beychella.
