New Beyoncé Music Is Finally, Finally Here
We have big news, Beyoncé fans: New music from your queen has finally arrived.
Well, kind of. This new song isn’t Beyoncé’s, per se; it’s actually Eminem’s first single in two years, but Beyoncé’ is featured. The tune is called “Walk on Water,” and Beyoncé’s singing verses on it are absolutely stunning.
Go ahead and listen to it, below, and then we can discuss.

“I walk on water / But I ain’t no Jesus / I walk on water / But only when it freezes,” Beyoncé croons on the rap song, which features some of Eminem’s most poignant, introspective lyrics to date.
“It’s true, I’m a Rubik’s / A beautiful mess / At times juvenile, yes / I goof and I jest / A flawed human I guess,” Eminem raps at one point in the song. Thematically, “Walk on Water” is all about owning up to the fact that we’re humans; we’re not perfect, and we should stop pretending to be. “Cause I’m only human, just like you / Making my mistakes, oh if you only knew / I don’t think you should believe in me the way you do,” he raps again.
This is the second feature Beyoncé’s done this year. She lent her pipes to a remix version of J. Balvin and Willy William’s “Mi Gente” to raise money for the hurricanes that impacted Puerto Rico, Mexico, and the Caribbean islands. Unfortunately, she hasn’t released any solo work since 2016’s Lemonade. (“All Night” was the last single from that album.)
But new solo songs could be coming sooner than you think. Bey was recently spotted wearing braids in New Orleans—and, according to a popular fan theory, she almost always sports braids when recording new music.
Fingers crossed that’s the case. It’s time for Queen B to make her triumphant return to the charts.
