Gigi Hadid Already Found the Must-Have Holiday Party Look of 2017
Every time Gigi Hadid makes a public appearance, we pay attention—partially because she’s a world-famous supermodel (and 2017 Woman of the Year!), but also because she never fails to wear an outfit we wouldn’t ask to borrow. There have been times where she’s tested us (i.e. when she wore an astronaut suit on a casual Wednesday night), but the model’s style is generally ahead of the curve when it comes to the trends everyone will be wearing in a few week’s time. Case in point: the dress and coat she chose to celebrate the launch of Gigi Hadid x Maybelline in London—a combination we’ll surely see rehashed again and again come holiday party season.
Hadid commanded the step-and-repeat in her monochromatic yellow look, which consisted of a floor-grazing coat worn over a shiny strapless mini dress. She completed her outfit with a pair of sparkly gold heels. (You’ve got to appreciate the commitment to color coordination.)
Take a moment to appreciate her all-gold-everything fashion moment:

The high-low hem mix is giving us serious holiday dressing inspiration. Think about: a shimmery mini (festive!) layered with a statement coat (practical!) in the same hue? It’s exactly how we can get extra life out of our minidresses through the coldest days this winter. Once Gigi got inside, she slouched the topper just off her shoulders, to show off the dress but also give the ensemble a more laid-back vibe.
The high-wattage yellow might be a little too bright for some folks, but the outfit formula is still easily replicable. We can easily imagine a party-ready rendition of Gigi’s outfit in a shimmery champagne, festive red, or always wearable black.

With Gigi Hadid as our sartorial guide, all we need to do now is pick out a coat, find a matching mini dress, and wait for the party invitations to roll in.
