Emma Roberts' New 'Champagne Pop' Hair Is the Coolest Take on Blond

Emma Roberts has gone through quite a few hair changes this year: first, there was the orangey-red “cayenne spice” in February, followed by a gorgeous “smoky quartz” shade of brown. Then, there was brunette, as recently as August 3. Now, she’s gone blond—with an awesome bob to match—and it looks incredible. The cut itself is piece-y and hits an inch or two below her chin, with side-swept bangs and choppy layers hitting as far as above her ear. It’s styled with those cool-girl waves that look even more amazing the next morning. But the color is what truly stands out: the “champagne pop” color mixes strands of light champagne blond (a warmer tone) and ashy, cooler platinum hues. Because you rarely see the mixing of warm and cool tones in one look, the color is its own—incredible—statement.

Her hairstylist, Riawna Capri at Nine Zero One Salon, revealed Roberts’ new look in an Instagram post that also contained a ton of advice for girls thinking about going blond—especially this blond: “Stylists, don’t forgot to remind your clients going from brunette to blonde, that ‘3 times a charm’ ✨ it’s near impossible to get that perfect blonde in one appointment,” she wrote. “Clients, be patient with your stylist! Healthy, beautiful color takes time!” For Roberts, the journey started August 3 and took three “blondings.”

For reference, here’s Roberts on August 4, right after her first blond dye:

So cool, right? If you’re looking for something a little warmer, this trending cream soda color makes a great transition shade with more golden tones. Or, for more fall hair color inspration, check out the nine hair color trends that are going to be everywhere this fall.
