Emily Ratajkowski Debuted the Sleekest Lob at Rihanna's Diamond Ball

Some of us get really excited to show off a new hair cut. We anxiously await a night out or work on Monday as a chance to debut it for friends and colleagues. But when you’re Emily Ratajkowski, your New Hair Night Out is at Rihanna’s third-annual Diamond Ball, which is truly aspirational. On Friday at the event, the most gorgeous part of her outfit wasn’t her all-black, bustier-and-maxi-skirt ensemble or sunset-y makeup (which were both stunning)—instead, it was the sleek-AF lob that crowned her look.
We’ve seen Emily with one before—namely, back in January at the Golden Globes. She opted to trade her signature waves in for an equally wavy, piece-y lob that hit right at her shoulders. As it turns out, she had tricked us all: her stylist, Christian Wood, told us that it was a faux bob and that he’d cut a few pieces, tucked a few others, braided a bit more, and voilá. The look was soooo good, but, as we wrote through tears, it was not to last.
Until now! Unless it’s another con job, it very convincingly looks like she’s taken the plunge. Emrata posted a pic to Instagram on Friday night of her look as she was getting all glam at her hotel for Rihanna’s event. In the pic, she captioned it with a diamond emoji to represent her destination, followed by the handles of makeup artist Patrick Ta, hairstylist Jennifer Yepez, and colorist Aura.

The cut is minimalist and sharp, warmed up by the infusion of honey and golden tones. In contrast, here’s what it looked like last Thursday—huge difference, no?

Of course, it could be a wig—or, yes, a color job with another faux do (according to Aura’s Insta, dye was, in fact, applied to her hair). But it’s gorgeous no matter what.
