While Everyone Else Was Decked Out for the Met Gala, Taylor Swift Was Wearing Reformation in the Desert
On Monday it seemed like all of our favorite fashion heroes had descended on New York City for the 2018 Met Gala: Rihanna, Kim Kardashian West, Katy Perry, Zendaya, among many, many others ascended the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in lavish takes on a “Sunday best” dress code. However, one notable celebrity—and onetime cochair of the event—was missing from the crowd: Taylor Swift.
Now, she had a good reason to skip this year’s Met Gala: She’s about to kick off her highly anticipated Reputation tour in Arizona. So she may have missed out on the halos and capes and other bejeweled garments, but we can’t say we’re mad about what she wore instead.
On Monday Swift shared an image of herself with her 107 million Instagram followers (presumably near Glendale, where her tour kicks off) in front of a cactus, wearing a sleeveless, printed midi dress. “Fact: I’ve never been more excited about a tour than I am about this one. And it starts TOMORROW,” she wrote in the caption.

Her outfit couldn’t have been further from the fashion spectacle playing out in New York. But if Swift’s sundress is more your speed than, say, a crown or a skintight sheath, you’re in luck: Her desert-friendly sundress is a Reformation find.
The dress, which features a lace-up front and a delicate floral pattern, is still available on Reformation’s website for $248. If you’re hoping to snag her exact non–Met Gala look, you’ll have to get moving: Sizes are currently running low.

Of all the brands Swift could wear on the first Monday in May that weren’t, say, Louis Vuitton or Oscar de la Renta, Reformation was a pretty good fit—not only is her love for the eco-friendly brand well-documented, but it’s considerably more wallet-friendly for fans to copy her look. So everyone wins!
