Original Post: It’s been a whirlwind month for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The couple officially announced their engagement on Monday (November 27) and completed a full day of press—including a photo call and 20-minute sit-down interview, where we learned how Prince Harry proposed and what Princess Diana would’ve thought of Markle. Cameras even caught the couple goofing off after the interview wrapped, further confirming their adorable love for each other.
Of course, a royal engagement means a royal wedding is in our future—and if Prince William and Kate Middleton’s nuptials from 2011 are any indication, we’re in for a no-expense-spared extravaganza. We learned yesterday that Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding will take place next spring, but Kensington Palace released a bulletin on Tuesday (November 28) offering more information. We now have a date (May 2018) and a location (St. George’s Chapel).
“The marriage of His Royal Highness Prince Harry of Wales and Ms. Meghan Markle will take place at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle in May, 2018,” the release reads. “Her Majesty The Queen has granted permission for the wedding to take place at the Chapel. The Royal Family will pay for the wedding. Further details about the wedding will be announced in due course.”

These sparse details alone confirm their wedding will be stunning—and far more opulent than Prince Harry’s proposal, which apparently happened during a cozy night in while he and Markle were roasting a chicken. “It was just an amazing surprise. It was so sweet and natural and very romantic. He got on one knee,” Markle said.
Let the countdown to May 2018 begin.
