Chrissy Teigen Calls Out 'Sh-tty' Friends Who Sell Stories About Her
Chrissy Teigen, model, mother, host, and cookbook author, is never one to mince words on Twitter, and she just used her platform to call out a tactic used by many celebrity gossip writers: taking quotes from unnamed sources. As in, “this thing happened to this celebrity, according to a friend of the celebrity.”
Quote-retweeting an article from E! News about her supposed pregnancy cravings, Teigen wrote, “You guys should do a service to all the celebs who give you hourly content and say who your sources are so we can get rid of the shitty ‘friends’ in our lives who sell you stories.” Damn Chrissy, go off.
It’s not 100% clear if she’s calling out E! News, the “friend” who leaked the information, or both. It’s understandable that she’d want to get people who would sell anonymous quotes about her out of her life. Or maybe she’s insinuating that the quotes are fabricated or from people who don’t really know Chrissy very well. She’s totally correct to point out that “the celebs who give you hourly content” deserve better than to be used as clickbait, especially if the story isn’t true, but it’s also worth mentioning that the relationship between celebrities and the press is symbiotic. The reason people know about Teigen’s many projects is because they, and her life, are well-covered in the media. She might also be mostly joking. (This is Chrissy Teigen we’re talking about, after all.)
As for the article itself, the “source” basically says that Chrissy is eating a ton of junk food and excited about being pregnant. Hmm.
One Twitter user, though, suggested a pretty genius way to find out who the leaker in Chrissy’s circle is:

Unfortunately, she doesn’t have the poker face to pull it off:
Get a solid squad, Chrissy!
