Even as Canadian designer and Joe Fresh founder Joe Mimran[2] bid adieu to his eponymous brand last week, but that hasn’t stopped the label from making major fashion moves. And we mean major. Joe Fresh is partnering with Ryerson University’s Fashion Zone to create Canada’s first fashion innovation space called the Joe Fresh Centre for Fashion Innovation.
Thanks to Fashion Zones success with Ryerson’s Digital Media Zone, the Joe Fresh Centre for Fashion Innovation has the power to establish Canada’s fashion-inspired businesses through mentorship programs. Ryerson’s Digital Media Zone is ranked as Canada’s top university business and tech startup incubator worldwide.

Up to 21 businesses are confirmed to work with the Joe Fresh Centre for Fashion Innovation. This is all made possible thanks to Joe Fresh providing a $1 million investment in support of the program.
Impressed? Well there’s more. This amazing opportunity isn’t just confined to Ryerson students. The application process is open to anyone (18 years and older) with a business plan or prototype. Upon completion of the 18-month program, those coming from Ryerson will receive academic recognition. Everyone else gets street cred and bragging rights.
