A 23 year old was the victim of assault after a violent home invasion on Sparrow Hawk Drive that happened in late December. The Wood Buffalo RCMP explained that several men went into a home on Sparrow Hawk Drive, using force to abduct the 23 year old resident on December 29, 2015. After the assault the victim required treatment for minor injuries. Wood Buffalo RCMP spokesperson Ashley Quallie said “There’s no description other than there were possibly up to three male suspects. Something was placed over (the victim’s) eyes, and he was unable to see who the assailants were or provide a description.” Police are not releasing a lot of details at this point but they did say that the man went to another residence to ask for help after he was forcefully taken from his home, and they believe that the victim was the only resident at the home that was invaded.
Police have not detailed where the assault victim was taken during the violent home invasion but they are asking the public for help in solving the crime. Ashley Quallie stated “At this point in the investigation, (we’re) reaching out for some assistance from the public to see if anyone had seen anything or heard anything.” Police have not discovered any other complaints about home invasions for the same time period in December. The victim was taken to a local hospital for a medical examination and treatment for minor injures and then released.
