George Zimmerman, the man responsible for the death of Trayvon Martin who was acquitted under the Florida Stand Your Ground Law because he had injuries and acted in self defense, has been arrested again. At 9:45 pm on Friday night George Zimmerman was booked shortly after arrest at the Sanford John E. Polk Correctional Facility, and he was scheduled to appear before a judge Saturday morning. Police were called to a residence for a domestic violence dispute and that was when Zimmerman was arrested. Seminole County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Kim Cannaday told reporters “It will most likely be a domestic violence charge.” When George Zimmerman shot Trayvon Martin on a rainy night he was acting as a neighborhood watch, and there were visible injuries showing that there was a scuffle between Zimmerman and Martin. Witnesses said that Martin was on top of Zimmerman and doing a ground and pound, and that was when George shot the teenager.

This is not the first time that George Zimmerman has been arrested or suspected of aggravated assault since he shot Trayvon Martin in Florida. This is the second time that there have been domestic violence allegations against Zimmerman, with the first incident occurring with his wife and father in law after the couple separated and she took her father with her to get some belongings. George was also questioned when a former girlfriend said he pointed a gun at her, but no charges were ever filed against him. Zimmerman was also stopped in both Florida and Texas for speeding.

A fatal shooting in White Springs, Florida has led to child abuse charges against the parents of the siblings involved. The 15 year old girl who is not being named shot her 16 year old brother and called him after she says he beat her and locked her in her room. When police investigated the home the 15 year old girl’s bedroom only contained a bucket in the closet for bathroom purposes and a blanket. After the parents were contacted they admitted that they often locked the girl up, for as long as 20 days at a time. The teens father was a truck driver and their mother often went along on trips, leaving the 16 year old boy in charge of his 15 year old sibling as well as two other female siblings who were 11 and 3 years old at the time.

The fatal shooting in Florida occurred after the 16 year old beat the 15 year old girl and then locked her in the bedroom. Police say the girl has been abused for years, and she finally had enough. The 15 year old convinced the 11 year old to unlock the door, and she then went through her parent’s bedroom window in order to get to the gun because their door was locked. The 16 year old was sleeping in the living room when he was fatally shot. Both older sisters are in a juvenile facility and the 3 year old was taken into protective custody by the state. The parents admit that the 15 year old was very disturbed, saying she had attempted suicide several times and been molested by an uncle who was convicted in 2010. In 2011 the parents found the siblings having sex. In spite of this the police and protective workers were never called by the parents who are now being charged with child abuse.

Murder charges have been filed against the parents in Florida in the case of an infant starvation death. The 22 day old baby died from starvation and both parents of the infant have been charged with first degree murder. For most people the thought of neglecting a newborn in any way is unacceptable, and to allow an infant to starve to death is inexcusable. According to the assistant chief of the Lakeland Police Mike Link”She suffered tremendously over the 22 days that she was alive.” According to police the photographs of the baby are very disturbing, and the medical examiner determined that the baby girl was murdered by starvation due to neglect. When the infant was weighed in death she weighed roughly two and a half pounds less than at birth, and she had not been fed much for the previous 24 hours before dying.

First degree murder charges in the Florida infant starvation case are warranted according to the medical examiner, and an infant lost her life because she was not valued or loved by her mother. After being confronted with the facts the mother of the infant admitted that the baby had not been fed much during the day long trip to Florida, and that it was difficult to feed the infant because they would have to exit the highway in order to do so. The baby girl had an appointment with a physician before the trip but the mother failed to keep the appointment. The male half of the couple, Roy Stephens, is not the biological father of the infant and did not have much to do with the baby according to the mother. Two other children aged 1 and 2 were also with the couple, and these children were taken into protective custody.
