Prince Harry Just Gave a Cheeky Response When Asked About Having Kids With Meghan Markle
Now that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are married and royal wedding fever has (sort of) died down, many of their well-wishers have shifted focus to new things—specifically, whether or not the two will have kids.
An invasive question that should be between Harry and Meghan only? Absolutely, but that doesn’t stop royal fans from asking. While the duo were in Dublin, Ireland, this week, one such fan asked Harry point-blank when, exactly, he and Meghan were planning on starting a family. The Duke of Sussex, however, skillfully sidestepped the question with a cheeky comment.
Elaine Adam-Stewart told People on Wednesday that while chatting with Prince Harry in Dublin earlier in the day, she told him, “My husband also has red hair and he gave me five children—when are you and Meghan going to get going?” In response, Adam-Stewart claims, Harry “laughed and said, ‘Five children? Too many.'” Noted.
While five may be too many for Harry, he has said on the record that he’d like to have kids with Meghan. In November 2017, the newly engaged pair sat down for an interview with the BBC and were asked whether they had plans to start a family. “I think eventually, one step at a time, and we’ll start a family in the near future,” Harry said at the time.
Meghan has also previously hinted that a family could be in their future. In March, with a few weeks still to go before their wedding, the couple made a royal visit to Belfast, Northern Ireland, where they met at one point with the husband-and-wife team behind a local baby-product company. Upon checking out some product samples, Meghan reportedly remarked, “I’m sure at some point we’ll need the whole thing. It’s very sweet.”
Of course, no word yet when that “some point” will arrive, if ever, but in the meantime Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis provide more than enough cute royal kid moments.
