Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Wedding: Everything We Know So Far
Not everything in 2017 was terrible: Several amazing movies came out (Get Out! Lady Bird! Girls Trip!), Taylor Swift’s Reputation album was a bop buffet, and Meghan Markle and Prince Harry finally announced their engagement. That last one has been a long time coming for anyone who follows the Royal Family. The Internet had a complete meltdown when news of their relationship first broke in October 2016, and every move they made afterwards was meticulously documented. Rumors of an engagement have been swirling around for months, but Kensington Palace finally confirmed the union on Monday, November 27. A second royal wedding is actually happening, people. Are you ready for it?
If you’re not, don’t sweat it: You still have several months to prepare. Markle and Prince Harry aren’t tying the knot until next spring—May 2018, specifically. To make sure you’re up to speed, though, we’ll be updating this post with more information about their upcoming nuptials as it comes in. So here’s what we know as of now:
The date. On November 27, Kensington Palace released a bulletin saying Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding will take place in spring 2018. The next day, the Palace offered a more specific time frame: May. Stay tuned for the exact date.
The location. Markle and Prince Harry will tie the knot at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. The Queen granted permission for the wedding to take place there.
Markle and Prince Harry want the public to be involved. They’re currently working through ideas on how to achieve this. Emily Andrews, the royals correspondent for The Sun says it’s safe to assume the nuptials will be televised.

Markle and Prince Harry are spearheading the majority of the planning. Does this mean there will be a tribute to Markle’s USA TV show Suits?
The Royal Family will pay for the “core aspects” of the wedding. This includes the church service, associated music, flowers, decorations, and the reception. With a budget like that, Markle and Prince Harry could have actual Lady Gaga perform at their wedding.
