Someone Made a List of All the Words that Ivanka Trump Has Used Incorrectly
Another day, another flood of tweets roasting the First Daughter.
It seems like hardly a day goes by where Twitter doesn’t take time to mock Ivanka Trump. Whether she’s waxing poetic about her “punk phase” in her mother’s memoir, posing for the cover of Us Weekly for a “Why I Disagree With My Dad” feature, or actually tweeting herself about the North American solar eclipse, Twitter does not have time for the Ivanka’s antics and is sure to express their thoughts (it’s fitting, too, considering Twitter is her father’s preferred medium).
The latest edition of Ivanka burns comes from political writer Eve Peyser. On Tuesday Peyser tweeted an excerpt from an Us Weekly Q+A with Ivanka, making sure to note the First Daughter’s improper use of the words “relative” and “albeit.”
But Peyser wasn’t done pointing out Ivanka’s seemingly tenuous grasp of the English language. There was, of course, the time she mistakenly used “otherwise.”
A mistake that even Chrissy Teigen was quick to point out.
As noted by Peyser, there was some confusion over the word “complicit.”
Along with “juxtaposition.”
As well as “overlay,” “competitive,” and “birthday.”
Let’s cut Ivanka some slack—she’s a very busy woman with a full schedule of backtracking on her promises to help women in the workplace and trying to sell America on a tax plan that most benefit the wealthy and corporations. She doesn’t always have time to verify her word choice on dictionary.com—but maybe she should give it a shot once in a while.
