'Game of Thrones' Star Gwendoline Christie Admits Tormund's Love for Brienne Continues Off Screen, Too

In a recent interview with Seth Meyers on Late Night, actress Gwendoline Christie, who plays Brienne on Game of Thrones, spilled some rather uncomfortable details about those looks she gets from Tormund. You know, the looks.

Apparently, actor Kristofer Hivju stays in full Tormund character, even after the director says cut—and yes, that includes his creepy stares. “He likes to continue being in character even off set,” Christie shared with Seth. “He will start chewing a sandwich wildly at me, start masticating wildly at me, really kind of making love to that sandwich as he eyeballs me. So it’s strong. Eyes like lasers pouring right in.” Like this, we assume:

Christie explains that she is a classically trained actress, so she rarely starts laughing during a scene, but this is the one time where she completely loses it. As she tells Seth, Tormund’s looks are “possibly the one time that I dissolve without fail.” She continued, “No one told me that this was gonna happen. In the script it simply said, ‘Tormund gives Brienne a look.’ I was not expecting the power, the magnitude, of intense sexual intention to pour out of a man’s eyes and cover me.”

Tormund’s looks may have met their end in this season’s Game of Thrones finale, so we’re eagerly awaiting to see what happens next season. (To be completely honest, though, we’re not really sure if we should be rooting for more looks or for no looks at all.)
