Sunday (August 27) may have been the season seven finale of Game of Thrones, but HBO just announced a spinoff so you won’t have to go even one day without Jon Snow. Thank the old gods and the new.
HBO just released the first of a seven-episode, behind-the-scenes series about the latest season, called The Game Revealed, according to Deadline. The series features interviews with cast and crew discussing new information and insights into some of the seventh season’s biggest moments. Basically, it’s like a really long in-depth “Inside the Episode” with a focus on makeup, stuntmen, and production design. Fans can watch the first episode right now on Facebook and YouTube, as well as all HBO affiliate portals. The remaining six episodes will only be available through HBO.
Some things we learn in the first 13-minute episode include how the shocking season opener came about, and exactly what camera and makeup work was done to turn Maisie Williams a.k.a Arya Stark into Walder Frey. They also get into Ed Sheeran’s appearance — the singer is even interviewed for the series, saying, “When I first got the scene and I saw that I was a Lancer soldier and it was with Maisie, I just assumed that we’d all get killed at the end.” Probably smart when you’re dealing with a character who has a list of people to kill. The series also focuses on Daenerys Targaryen’s epic homecoming at Dragonstone and all of the detail work that went into the filming the penultimate season.
So, same time, same place next week?
