Peter Weber Explains Why He Reached Out to Hannah Brown While Engaged to Hannah Ann Sluss
Peter Weber has finally explained the Hannah Brown bombshell that Hannah Ann Sluss dropped during the After the Final Rose special of The Bachelor earlier this year.
To briefly recap, Sluss was rightfully upset that Weber proposed to her during the Bachelor finale without being honest about his remaining feelings for Madison Prewett. But this wasn’t the only woman still on his mind: On After the Final Rose, Sluss revealed, “I should have really picked up on the first red flag that you gave to me when you wanted to reach out to Hannah Brown to find closure with her [during our engagement]. So really, looking back on it, our engagement involved three women: me, you still being in love with Madison and proposing to me, and needing closure with Hannah Brown.”
Weber has since spoken at length about his feelings for Prewett, who he broke up with just three days after the same live show. But we’ve never heard the full story about the whole Hannah Brown situation until now.
During his recent interview on Bachelor Nation alum Nick Viall’s podcast The Viall Files, Weber explained that he and Hannah Brown ran out of time to discuss their issues when she first appeared on his season. Then, the two of them were both sent the first episode before it aired (when he was engaged to Sluss), which brought everything back to the surface. He also claims that Brown reached out to him first.
“One day I saw that [Hannah Brown] DM’d me on Instagram—I didn’t have her number at that point,” Weber said. “She was being really honest and open and wondering if I had seen the episodes yet. She was kinda struggling with it, it was tough to watch.”
This all happened when Weber was with Sluss, watching the series together. “I saw this message and [Hannah Ann and I] were on a ‘Happy Couple’ weekend, and we were watching the episodes together, and I told her that Hannah Brown had reached out, that it could be good for both of us to get some closure,” he said. “To be completely honest, the way that whole conversation ended [with Hannah Brown on The Bachelor] wasn’t very definite. I was so confused in that moment.”
That’s when he asked Sluss if he could chat with his ex…again. “She was, obviously, a little hesitant,” Weber said, “And that’s why I wanted to be transparent about her with everything. Ultimately, she gave me the okay and Hannah Brown and I discussed things.”
Well, I guess that’s that on that. Weird to think Kelley Flanagan, the only woman left out of Sluss’s speech, is the one Peter Weber is quarantining with now. But I’m not surprised that Brown, Sluss, and Prewett have moved right along.
