You know Tevas. You might love Tevas, you might pretend to hate them. I rejected them for many years, despite how comfortable and practical they are. But in recent seasons, the fashion crowd has adopted Tevas as their own: wearing them on the streets of Copenhagen, styling them with the fanciest of clothes, and, yes, featuring them on the runway.

At the spring 2020 shows during New York Fashion Week, designers decked out the classic Tevas with everything from florals to jewels. At Jonathan Cohen, the strappy sandals were decorated with colorful beads to match the patterned dresses seen in the collection. At Tanya Taylor, flatforms featuring the brand’s signature prints were worn with tropical dresses and sharp suits.
The models of Gypsy Sport were covered in body glitter from head to toe, making their white Tevas really stand out.
Meanwhile, at Claudia Li, the straps of the Tevas were extended with strings, so that they wrapped around the ankles.
