Fans are still reeling from Hannah Brown sending home Mike Johnson on The Bachelorette Monday night (July 1). I hope he’s not taking it too hard, though, especially because there’s one celebrity prepared to go all in for him: Demi Lovato. The “Cool for the Summer” singer has been hilariously thirsting over Johnson this week, and it’s so, so relatable. I mean, if there’s any Bachelorette contestant worth screaming about publicly, it’s Johnson. He’s hot, hilarious, and kind, and he has the greatest smile known to man. Seriously! Look at his grin in the photo above. It’s sunshine personified. He’s a perfect human, and I understand why Lovato is obsessed.
Her public crush campaign started during Monday’s Bachelorette episode, when she snapped a photo of Johnson and posted to Instagram Stories, “Mike, I accept your rose.” People magazine reports that in a separate slide you can hear her say, “Swing me, kiss me! Boo boo,” in reference to Johnson.
Shortly after his elimination aired, Johnson took to Twitter and wrote, “Jus saying, my future wife though girl you ready for smiles, adventure, comfort, growth, honesty, laughter, me falling using my inhaler and kissing your stretch marks and imperfections. Where u hiding.” It didn’t take long for fans to start shipping Lovato and Johnson, with one Lovatic posting to Instagram, “It’s your chance, Demi.”
“I’M RIGHT HERE MIKE I’M RIGHT HERE BOO MY MOM ALREADY LOVES YOU TOO,” Lovato wrote in the comments section on that Instagram post. And just like that we have a new celebrity dream couple.
