Meghan Markle's Having a Second Baby Shower—and Her Mom Will Be There
With Meghan Markle’s first royal baby due this spring, the Duchess of Sussex is reportedly squeezing in another baby shower after her Serena Williams-hosted party in New York City last month.
This time, as previously reported by royal reporter Omid Scobie, it’ll be located across the pond in England—and Meghan Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland, will be in attendance for this one too, according to Harper’s Bazaar. (Royal fans will remember she didn’t attend the state-side celebration.)
While Markle’s NYC baby shower at The Mark hotel had an A-list crowd of attendees (Amal Clooney, former Suits co-star Abigail Spencer, Gayle King), food prepared by Michelin-star chef Jean Georges Vongerichten, Martha Stewart Weddings prepared treats, and dozens and dozens of pink roses, this second gathering will have a remarkably different vibe.
This one might not be as all-out lavish, the Daily Mail reports—but it will be an intimate gathering. “Doria is coming to a baby shower here,” a source told the outlet. “It will be a small gathering of five or six people.”
We’re sure, however, that it will still be pretty amazing—after all, it’s being planned by royalty. Us Weekly, Meghan’s sister-in-law Kate Middleton is hosting the UK-located bash. It was originally planned to be held at Meghan and Prince Harry’s future mansion residence, Frogmore Cottage on Windsor Estate, but it’s still under renovation. Good thing the royals have a few party locations to choose from—and wherever it is, it’ll still be a special day.
