Kim Kardashian Called Out a Tabloid for Saying She Has 'Bad Skin'

Kim Kardashian is no stranger to tabloids playing on her name and likeness for clicks. At times, she welcomes the attention—but not so much when it comes to hurtful words about her skin.

The Daily Mail learned that lesson today after tweeting out a story with the caption, “Make-up mogul Kim Kardashian suffers bad skin day ahead of Master Class beauty seminar.” The images showed her out and about in LA with less-than-perfect skin and she was quick with a response. Her reply? “It’s psoriasis all over my face. ?” Any fan of Keeping Up with the Kardashians knows that Kardashian has been battling psoriasis—a chronic skin condition that can cause dryness, flakiness, inflammation, and discoloration—for years.

Fans quickly jumped to Kardashian’s defense and sympathized with her skin issues. “This is why I can’t be famous, you literally cannot be human,” wrote one Twitter user. “Do not let the media shake you. My mom has psoriasis, it took her a long time to accept it and not let the opinions of others shake her. Her psoriasis is still bad bc there are underlining issues she refuses to address, but people like you help start those convo. Thank you ❤️,” wrote another. One user succinctly pointed out that “psoriasis is no laughing matter.”

Back in December, Kardashian was crowd-sourcing her huge following for help about what to do to alleviate her psoriasis symptoms. “I think the time has come I start a medication for psoriasis,” she said. “I’ve never seen it like this before and I can’t even cover it at this point. It’s taken over my body. Has anyone tried a medication for psoriasis & what kind works best? Need help ASAP!!!”

Honestly, it’s pretty great that someone like Kardashian is so open about her skin issues, seeing as it’s one of the most relatable things about her life. (That goes for Kendall Jenner too.) And it certainly helps normalize the condition when she calls out a tabloid for mocking it. Well done all-around, Kimberly.
