Pink Leggings: The Best Pairs to Buy Now
When I’m in my workout clothes (which is normally on the weekend, with no plans of actually working out), I don’t like to call attention to myself. I want to be comfortable. I pick loose-fitting tops and sweatshirts in muted colors, to be worn with full-coverage, high-waisted black leggings and slide sandals. I rarely deviate from that formula or palette. When it comes to activewear, I’m not one to buy into trends or experiment with silhouettes, because I know what I like. (Truly, I own around seven variations of the same plain black leggings—help.) But for the first time since the dawn of athleisure, I’ve found myself wanting to abandon this habit in favor of something much, much more…colorful.
As with most of my shopping-habit deviations, Instagram is to blame: I, a black legging devotee, am suddenly in the market for rosy pink, magenta, or cherry red athletic sets—and that’s all thanks to the countless cute pictures of strangers wearing colorful bottoms and sports bras I’ve scrolled past over the past few weeks.
Two brands in particular have piqued my interest in colorful fitness wear: Outdoor Voices and Girlfriend Collective. Both have recently released styles in this color family. And as you probably gathered, they photograph quite well.
Though these companies are the ones that have sent me on this journey out of my athleisure comfort zone, I’ve found plenty of compelling athletic bottoms in the red-pink-blush color family from a range of brands (and price points), to jazz up my existing collection. So we can consider this quest for the perfect colorful leggings a success. (Also, I’ve learned that I’m truly powerless in the face of good old-fashioned Instagram bait—I can live with that, though.)
