Three people were killed in a highway crash on Highway 12 northeast of Rocky Mountain House on Tuesday morning.
Two other people were injured in the accident and taken to hospitals in Rocky Mountain House and Red Deer, EMS officials said.
STARS dispatched helicopters from both Calgary and Edmonton but later called them back.
Rocky Mountain House is 200 kilometres northwest of Calgary.
Road conditions were icy at the time of the crash.
