Fatal Head On Collision on Highway 63 Claims One Life, Injures Others

highway 63, fatal head on collision

A fatal head on collision on highway 63 has claimed the life of one individual and left others injured. According to police the suspected cause of the accident was erratic driving, and a white Chevrolet Avalanche crossed the centre line and collided with a semi that was carrying fracking fluid. The same white vehicle is believed to have rear ended another vehicle and then continuing without stopping after this initial accident. According to Boyle RCMP a 33 year old male is dead, and this was the driver of the Chevrolet Avalanche. The semi driver was also hospitalized with injuries from the accident. The fatal head on collision occurred near Wandering Road at around 7:45 pm, and the investigators do believe that both speed and alcohol played a role in the crash but the investigation is continuing.

The events that led up to the fatal head on collision on highway 63 are still not completely known, but the RCMP investigation did uncover a number of facts so far. According to RCMP Cst. Alexander Ayres “The vehicle was reported to have rear-ended another vehicle on the highway … before driving erratically away. At that time or shortly after, the vehicle was seen crossing the centre line before it struck head on with a semi tractor heading northbound.””Ultimately, we do believe the Chevrolet Avalanche, the driver of that vehicle is at fault for this collision, and it was his actions that resulted in the collision. It’s unfortunate, and we extend our condolences to the family of the deceased male involved. But as our investigation continues, ultimately, we are looking at this as a … criminal investigation.”
