18 Year Old Facing Breaking and Entering Plus Other Charges by Wood Buffalo RCMP for June Crimes

18 year old Fort McMurray resident Taetm Lucaas D. Moon is wanted by the Wood Buffalo RCMP for breaking and entering as well as other crimes. The alleged crimes occurred on June 9, 2016 in the vicinity of Timberlea and Thickwood, and Moon is facing 5 counts of possession of property obtained by crime as well as a count of failing to comply with disposition, a count of breaking and entering, and a count of trespassing by night. There is a warrant out for Taetm’s arrest and police are actively looking for him. Police report that Moon is 5’9” in height, he weighs 140 pounds, and both his hair and eyes are brown.

Wood Buffalo RCMP spokesperson Cpl. George Cameron discussed the case and offered some tips to deter breaking and entering or theft. “He was already on some kind of conditions already. Don’t make it easy for thieves. Lock your doors, windows, don’t leave anything outside that is valuable. The harder we make it, the less complaints files like this we’ll have to investigate.” Anyone who has information about Moon can contact the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or call the Wood Buffalo RCMP at Wood Buffalo RCMP at 780-788-4040. Many thieves and other criminals can be deterred by some simple measures and vigilance. People forget to lock doors, they leave valuables in vehicles, and they are not always aware of their surroundings or what is going on. This can make you a more likely target for a thief or other criminal.

Man Charged With Breaking and Entering During Fort McMurray Evacuation is Granted Bail

A man who has been charged with breaking and entering into two different residences during the Fort McMurray evacuation has been given bail by a judge who said that the case against 19 year old Jeffery Stodola is not strong at all and that there are other suspects since police only had a quick glimpse of the individual who was committing the crime. Stadola was charged by police with two separate counts of breaking and entering a dwelling with intent to commit an indictable offence. The allegations by police are that Jeffery kicked in the front door on two homes on May 6, 2016, both of which were located on Waniandy Way. This was three days after Fort McMurray was evacuated and people were supposed to leave.

During the hearing for the breaking and entering charges against Stodola after the Fort McMurray evacuation provincial court Judge Michael Allen ordered the 19 year old to be released on a no cash surety bond in the amount of $10,000, and the judge set several conditions of the bond. One of the conditions outlines was that the teen was not allowed in Fort McMurray with the exception of appearances in court. Judge Allen also pointed out the weaknesses in the case against Stodola, with the allegations stemming from the fact that an individual ran from police officers, and that a police dog was called who tracked the suspect back to Stodola’s home. According to Bryson McDonald, the Fort McMurray Crown prosecutor, “Reasonable people don’t run from police.”

Conklin Corner Store Breaking and Entering Under Investigation

Conklin Corner Store, breaking and entering

A recent breaking and entering at the Conklin Corner Store is under investigation, and the two perpetrators were caught on video so there is little doubt that they will be eventually identified and brought to justice. The RCMP is asking the public for help in identifying the suspects in the video. The crime occurred on July 14, 2015 right before 12:30 am. The suspects made off with cash, food, cigarettes, and DVDs worth an estimated $18,000 according to the RCMP. This is a large amount for a small business to absorb. On the video one of the individuals involved is wearing a blue hat, blue gloves, and a gray jacket. The other suspect can be seen wearing a black hat and a navy colored jacket. Both suspects have an average build and an average height.

The Conklin Corner Store breaking and entering is being investigated but so far police do not have a lot to go on except for the surveillance video which shows the two suspects. The Wood Buffalo RCMP is asking anyone who may recognize one or both of the suspects in the video to contact the local police, or to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. Someone knows who these individuals are and police are hoping that they will step forward with the information that they have so the case can be resolved. It is possible that friends or family members of the suspects would recognize the criminals from the video, or recognize the clothing worn by the individuals if they watched the video.

Wood Buffalo RCMP Investigating Thickewood Breaking and Entering

Wood Buffalo RCMP, Thickewood, Breaking and Entering

The Wood Buffalo RCMP is investigating a recent Thickewood breaking and entering, and they are asking for help from the public to identify the individual responsible. The crime occurred during the very early hours of the morning on February 17, and the burglar alarm system alerted police that a breaking and entering took place. When the police responded and arrived on scene they found the Wolverine Drive Shoppers Drug Mart in Thickewood had been broken into. Details on what the male suspect took have not been released, police have only disclosed that the criminal did take some undisclosed items before fleeing, and he was gone when police arrived at the store. The RCMP is asking the public to look at the surveillance video and help identify the individual who committed this crime.

So far the Wood Buffalo RCMP have not disclosed a motive for the Thickwood breaking and entering, bu the fact that the store targeted was a drug store has made some wonder if the suspect was hoping to access and steal prescription medications that have a high potential for abuse, such as narcotic pain killers or anxiety medications. Anyone who has any information about this crime should contact the Wood Buffalo RCMP and tell them what you know. This time the target was a drug store, but next time it could be a residence that is occupied when the breaking and entering happens. Someone knows who this suspect is and recognizes the picture, and the police are asking this person to come forward and contact them.

One or more individuals responsible for a breaking and entering at the Thickwood Salvation Army caused thousands of dollars in damages, an Wood Buffalo RCMP is still investigating. Tuesday morning the RCMP responded to the Thickwood Salvation Army after someone discovered that the church had been broken into and entered, and items were taken but law enforcement is not stating what was stolen because the investigation is still open and continuing. According to Cst. Kandice Perry “The investigation’s still ongoing to determine exactly what was taken and how much was taken. Between the property taken and the damage done, they’re looking at approximately $5,000 of damage.” In addition to the stolen property the criminals also caused damage to the doors and windows of the church, and staff for the Salvation Army reported damage to an interior office as well.

The breaking and entering at the Thickwood Salvation Army this close to Christmas shows that some people have no compassion for others. Salvation Army community service centre program manager Joan Nobles told reporters “Damage was done to offices, and thankfully the gifts that we had collected from children to give to other children were untouched, so we’re very thankful of that,. We’re waiting to see what comes of the RCMP investigation, but we’re very thankful that no-one was hurt, no-one was there. We’re trying to do our best to help people in the community, and we are disheartened that this happened. It’s stirred us, but that doesn’t mean that we won’t continue to help others.” Donation kettles were not put out on Tuesday, and people are being asked to drop off any donations to the McDonald Ave location.

Fort MacMurray Crime Results in Breaking and Entering and Voyeurism Charges

Fort MacMurray crime is a problem as the area grows and more people arrive to work in the region. A Fort MacMurray man was arrested for an incident which occurred last Friday in Thickwood, and he has been charged with breaking and entering as well as voyeurism charges. 23 year old Tibor Malik has been charged, and was released with certain conditions. The next court appearance for the case is set November 5, 2014. The incident started with a phone call to the RCMP, and a woman complained that a male subject tried to get into her bedroom and was watching her through the window of the ground floor apartment as she was changing clothes. The woman went on to tell police that she called out to her boyfriend, who was in another area of the apartment.

The boyfriend of the woman who was complaining about a male breaking and entering the apartment went out to confront the man after looking out another window in the apartment. The male fled as he was approached, but the boyfriend managed to get the license plate number of the car as the suspect drove away. RCMP Cst. George Cameron reported that he hopes this encourages others to call when a Fort MacMurray crime like this occurs, stating “Sometimes, when stuff like this happens, people may be a little hesitant to call us, whether they’re scared to or embarrassed or whatever. This is sort of an encouragement to get the message out there and let people know they can call us, like this lady did here.”
