Matthew McConaughey Playing Bingo With Seniors Will Have You Saying 'Alright, Alright, Alright'

Pull out your bingo daubers and settle in, because this is a game of bingo you don’t want to miss!

Matthew McConaughey hosted his first-ever round of virtual bingo for a special group of individuals and, as expected, he blew the players’ socks off with his rousing announcing skills. In a video shared by the Spectrum Retirement Communities, the True Detective star is joined by his wife Camila Alves, their kids and his mother, Kay, as they each revealed the selected bingo numbers from the comfort of their home. Together, the group shouted with excitement as a few of the residents revealed their winning boards.

Though the clip is brief, the retirement home said in a statement that the small act of kindness “gave [the residents] hope and was the boost that they needed to get through this lonely, challenging time.”

In addition, the team at Spectrum revealed that the winner of the round of bingo had the chance to ask Matthew a question, some of which were about his family heritage and his favorite drink.

“Our team members can’t interact with the residents the way we normally do, so we have been doing everything possible to uplift them virtually,” they shared. “This was a wish come true! The residents absolutely loved seeing Matthew and his family and enjoyed hearing him talk about what he’s doing to get through this crisis.”

According to Spectrum, the residents previously shared a video in which they pled for Matthew to come visit them, but Matthew didn’t have the chance to join them until now.

This is not the only good deed the Dallas Buyers Club has done in the past few weeks. Since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, the star has been donating money, sharing new feel-good content and even joining in on students’ college classes.

Although, for the last bit, he does that pretty frequently since he’s a professor at the University of Texas, where he graduated from in 1993. Naturally, he teaches the course “Script to Screen.”

Most recently, he shared a video of himself discussing his and Kate Hudson‘s hit movie How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.

Now, if all that doesn’t have you saying, “alright, alright, alright,” we don’t know what will.

So below, shop the titles you need to add to your bookshelf according to Tim McGraw, Karlie Kloss, Chris Pratt and more.

The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah

You can’t go wrong with this No. 1 New York Times bestselling novel detailing the experience of women during World War II. It has also been turned into a movie, set to be released later this year. Tim McGraw is a big fan, telling fellow bookworm Jenna Bush Hager: “It’s one of my favorite books ever. I cried like a baby for about two hours at the end of it. All of my kids have read it, my wife…everybody loves that book.”

More Than Enough by Elaine Welteroth

This New York Times bestseller by the former editor-in-chief of Teen Vogue and current Project Runway judge Elaine Welteroth is beloved by Reese Witherspoon, Karlie Kloss, Malala Yousafza and more. Its her own story of climbing the ranks of the fashion and journalism industries as a black woman. “Elaine Welteroth has written the ultimate guide for how to come into your own, on your own terms,” Kloss endorsed. “Packed with honesty and warmth, More Than Enough is a must read for women of all ages and walks of life.”

The Unexpected Spy by Tracy Walder

This is the true story of sorority girl Tracy Walder graduating from college and joining the CIA (and then later the FBI). Ellen Pompeo is a fan—so much so that she’s developing the book into a series for ABC. “Tracy Walder has a unique combination of immense courage along with compassion and humanity…This book will be an inspiration to anyone who picks it up,” Pompeo said.

Jay-Z Made In America by Michael Eric Dyson

Celebs including Queen Latifah, Tyler Perry, Common, Spike Lee, Al Sharpton and Tamron Hall love this book about Jay-Z’s career written by sociology professor Michael Eric Dyson. “Jay-Z is one of the most remarkable figures of our time,” Perry shared. “I identify with him as a person who started poor but who rose high to conquer our realms on our own terms. This brilliant work probes every dimension of this iconic American original.”

The Upside of Being Down by Jen Gotch

Ban.do founder and chief creative officer Jen Gotch shares how struggling with mental health issues has not stopped her from becoming a boss business woman in The Upside of Being Down. “[Gotch] shares her wisdom and unique perspective on life and offers advice she has learned through founding the joyful and optimistic lifestyle brand, Ban.do, and being a BOSS (who cries at work), but ALSO through her own struggles with mental illness, personal setbacks, and managing to come out on the other side with optimism firmly intact,” fan Busy Phillips said on Instagram. “She wrote a memoir disguised as a self-help book—or maybe she wrote a self-help book disguised as a memoir? Either way, as far as I’m concerned it’s required reading for 2020.”

That Was Awkward by Emily Flake

Looking for a laugh? Pick up That Was Awkward, a book of illustrations, observations, and advice by New Yorker cartoonist Emily Flake. Flake chronicles the hilarious awkwardness of two humans trying to connect, and Molly Ringwald can’t get enough. “It isn’t hard to recognize yourself—and everyone you know—in these hilarious portraits of awkward huggers,” Ringwald said. “Sincerely funny, sly and subversive, Emily Flake perfectly captures the plight of our perpetually embarrassing rituals of connection.”

Laugh Lines by Alan Zweibel

You’re going to have to practice some patience with this one: Laugh Lines doesn’t come out until April 14, 2020, but if its celeb endorsements from Larry David, Sarah Silverman, Judd Apatow, Steve Martin and more are any indication, you’re going to want to pre-order it ASAP. This memoir is about Alan Zweibel’s comedy career, from writing for Saturday Night Live to working on Curb Your Enthusiasm and more. He also interviews some of his famous friends in the book, like Sarah Silverman to Judd Apatow. “Alan Zweibel is the original man behind the man!” Silverman said. “I don’t have enough fingers to count how many people would not be where they are without Alan Zweibel. (I only have four fingers, but still…)”

The Terminal List by Jack Carr

Chris Pratt is going to be starring in a TV show inspired by The Terminal List, a political thriller written by former Navy SEAL Jack Carr about a Navy SEAL who learns that the American government is actually behind the deaths of his entire team. If you love this read and can’t get enough, don’t worry: There are two more books that follow—True Believer and Savage Son, which comes out this month.

Mercy House by Alena Dillon

Amy Schumer loves this novel about a group of nuns wanting to protect the safe haven they’ve built for the abused and abandoned, even though many of their methods are forbidden by the Catholic Church. She describes the book as “a life-altering debut featuring fierce, funny, and irreverent women who battle the most powerful institution in the world.” “This is the book we’ve all been waiting for,” she endorsed.

All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr

Seth Meyers is a huge fan of this Pulitzer Prize-winning novel about World War II. It follows two children as they try to survive the devastation of the war. “If you’ve never read this book now is a great time not just because it’s wonderful but because there are a lot of short chapters so if you’re a parent thinking, ‘how the hell am I supposed to read a book with everything else going on,’ just know if you can find ten minutes you’re banging out a chapter maybe two, depending on how fast a reader you are,” Meyers said on Instagram.

Watch Nikki Bella's Mom Surprise Her With Condoms in This Hilarious Total Bellas Bonus Clip

What better gift is there to bring to a fancy dinner than a bag of condoms?

That’s exactly what Nikki Bella‘s mom, Kathy Colace, surprised her with in this bonus Total Bellas clip. The retired WWE star opens the present in front of her twin sister Brie Bella and friends, all of whom find the seemingly random gift hilarious.

As for Kathy’s explanation, she simply said there was “something” in her that was telling her to make the purchase on behalf of her daughter. Admittedly, though, she “didn’t know what size” to buy.

Kathy also didn’t know that Nikki’s allergic to latex—a discovery Nikki says she made when using eyelash glue, not condoms. As for the latter, Nikki reveals that she “doesn’t remember the last time” she used one.

“So you just take the chance?” a smiling Brie asks, likely referencing Nikki and Artem Chigvintsev‘s relationship.

But before Nikki can answer, a friend adds, “What about one night stands?”

“Oh, I mean I definitely use a condom,” she responds.

Kathy is then confused how the conversation turned to one night stands, prompting Nikki to yell, “Mom, you brought condoms!”

James Charles Speaks Out After Criticism Over "Mugshot" Challenge

After facing scrutiny online, James Charles has spoken.

The 20-year-old came under fire on social media after posting his version of the “Mugshot Challenge,” a current viral trend where people style themselves in a photo as if they were taking a mugshot. In the images the YouTube star posted online, his makeup evoked bruised eyes and a bloody nose as he stared into the camera and off to the side.

However, not everyone was pleased with Charles’ latest project. “I don’t understand why this would be a trend. I love James but it’s not fun having your face bruised and not being able to cover them up. Maybe I’m being too sensitive but this made me feel really uncomfortable because I couldn’t take mine off. It made me feel so dehumanized,” one person tweeted, to which Charles replied, “Hi babe, I’m so sorry that you went through something so awful and traumatic. it’s a tik tok trend going around where people post their ‘mugshots’ and has nothing to do with domestic violence whatsoever. love you.”

“I don’t think it’s just you, it’s the trend itself that’s triggering for many,” another tweet explained.

“I do understand that but this dumb trend has nothing to do with domestic abuse. what about action movies? halloween? special effects? simple bloody noses? this is nothing new,” he responded.

Twitter

Ultimately, Charles deleted the images altogether. As he explained in a tweet, “Despite the fact that hundreds of other influencers and artists have done something similar, I deleted the mugshot trend because it was never my intention to trigger anyone & it’s a waste of time trying to have an open discussion with people who hate me regardless.”

But, don’t mistake it for an apology. When someone tweeted back, “Boy you don’t have to apologize for everything get some balls!!!” the Internet personality added, “This is not an apology lol.”

Reese Witherspoon Teases Jennifer Lopez With Legally Blonde 3 Update

Breaking the Internet: What, like it’s hard?

On Monday, Reese Witherspoon treated fans to an Instagram Live and caught up with her pal Jennifer Lopez. During their chat, the Hustlers star told Reese that she and her 12-year-old twins Emme and Max recently watched Legally Blonde together, which sparked a much-needed update about the status of Legally Blonde 3.

“Oh, my god, we watched Legally Blonde the other day,” Jennifer raved. “Literally, like, four days ago. Oh, my god, I forgot—I can’t believe I didn’t tell you. They loved it. Loved it. It was so much fun. You were so amazing in that. It’s so great. And then, my daughter’s like, ‘I want to know what happens to her.’ And I said, ‘There’s a 2 and a 3, I believe.'”

Excited to hear that her children were fans of the film, Reese chimed in, “Well, no, there’s a 2 but I’m thinking we might be working on a 3.”

Thrilled at the possibility to see Elle Woods return, Jennifer urged the Big Little Lies star to pursue a third Legally Blonde movie. “You should. You should,” the “Love Don’t Cost A Thing” singer insisted. “That character was so amazing and so empowering and inspiring. Yeah, it’s great for girls.”

Back in 2018, Reese delighted fans everywhere when she confirmed that Legally Blonde 3 was in the works. Taking to Instagram, the Oscar winner channeled her fan-favorite character by donning a sequined pink bikini and wrote, “It’s true…#LegallyBlonde3.”

Years before the sequel became official, Reese weighed in on what a third installment would look like. “A lot of writers over the years have come up with different ideas for it,” she said back in 2015. “I actually think it’s kind of great right now, because we’re talking about women in politics and how important that is to get more women. I think it’d be kind of a cool thing to have her be a Supreme Court justice or someone who runs for office—like president!”

Mirroring her previous statement, the Sweet Home Alabama star shared that she’d love to reprise her role in the name of female empowerment.”I do think it’s a good time to do it,” she told E! News in 2016. “I think women need that kind of positivity right now.”

Florence Pugh Sends Birthday Tribute to Her "Special Person" Zach Braff

Happy birthday, Zach Braff!

The actor turned 45 years old on Monday, and nobody seemed more excited about his big day than Florence Pugh. The 24-year-old actress marked the major milestone with a tribute on Instagram.

“Today we shall smile wider than the clouds are grey,” the Little Women star wrote alongside a photo of the Scrubs alum napping next to his dog. “April 6th and we’re celebrating hard! Happy Birthday wishes, boogies and cheers for this special person. Raise those bubbles and jiggle!”

The celebrities were first spotted holding hands in New York last year. While the two have yet to publicly comment on the status of their relationship or walk a red carpet together, they’ve been photographed packing on the PDA on several occasions. For instance, they were photographed sharing a sweet smooch in Los Angeles back in January, and Braff was pictured opening the door for Pugh at an Oscars after-party in the same city back in February. The 92nd Academy Awards was certainly a time to remember for the pair. Pugh was nominated in the Best Actress in a Supporting Role category for her portrayal of Amy March, making it her first-ever Oscars nod.

While some fans have commented on the duo’s age gap, Pugh doesn’t pay any attention to these critics. For instance, after Braff left a princess emoji underneath a photo of Pugh visiting a deli in 2019, a follower wrote, “@zachbraff, you’re 44 years old.” However, Pugh was quick to reply, “And yet he got it.”

It was certainly a busy year for the pair. Pugh worked on the new Black Widow movie alongside Scarlett Johansson. In addition, Braff reportedly worked on The Comeback Trail.
