Tiger King Aftershow Episode: 5 of the Biggest Bombshells

Hey all you cool cats and kittens…

Netflix is giving the fans what they want: another Tiger King episode. That’s right, the streaming service knew people were craving more information about Joe Exotic, his zoo crew members and more, so they released a special.

Sadly, Carole Baskin was not part of the bonus episode, and has recently trashed Netflix over its portrayal of her in the docu-series.

However, that doesn’t mean the tea wasn’t hot.

Many of the Tiger King stars answered fans’ burning questions, as they sat down and virtually chatted with host, Joel McHale.

“We learned a lot today, we discovered Joe Exotic doesn’t have many allies left amongst in his old zoo crew,” McHale said in the Netflix special. “We found out the hottest celebrity hangout is Wal-Mart, and most importantly, we learned that there is no job offer that I’ll turn down.”

To learn about the biggest bombshells to come out of the show, read our highlights below!

Like Carole Baskin, There Isn’t Much Sympathy for Joe Exotic:

“It’s a complete crock of s–t,” Jeff Lowe said of people believing Joe was set-up. “Joe was his own worst enemy. He should’ve gotten up on the stand and testified against himself, because those videos where he’s shooting Carole, hanging Carole, blowing Carole up… Joe didn’t get set-up. Joe killed the tigers, he admitted to killing the tigers from jail… He’s where he belongs.”

“People in Oklahoma hate Joe Exotic,” Joshua Dial shared. “He’s gay, this is a very red state. We’re almost an endangered species here. [And] other reasons: animal violations, stuff like that.”

Saff’s Tiger Attack Was Used as a Safety Video:

“There was a time in place where we had to use it as a safety video,” Saff revealed. “We didn’t have any further of a conversation than this should be the one thing people see before they decide if this is a career move they want to make.”

After Travis Maldonado’s Death, Joe Spoke to a Shaman:

“The thing is, I had to go in that office everyday and sit in that same chair and look at that bullet hole in the wall…,” Joshua Dial began explaining how things were after Travis passed away. He said he wasn’t able to get counseling after the fact but hopes to do that soon for his mental health. He explained that Travis’ death had a deep effect on Joe as well.

“What Joe did is he spoke to a Shaman… I felt like it worsened his condition,” he expressed. “I’m all for holistic approaches but sometimes you need real, legitimate counseling and medication, and he wasn’t getting it.”

It’s Still a Mystery Why Allen Glover Was Filmed in a Bathtub:

Jeff’s wife put it simply. “I don’t have an answer for that. When we saw that, we were all like, ‘What the hell is going on,'” Lauren Lowe said.

Why John Finlay Was Always Shirtless:

“I got tattoos. Why not show off,” he shared. “I mean, it was a little cold, but it was fun.” He did admit that he wasn’t too happy with the way he came across in the series. “I was portrayed as a drugged out hillbilly, and that was not me then,” he stated. “At that time, I was four to five years clean.”

To watch the latest Tiger King episode, stream it on Netflix.

Mariah Carey Blesses Us on Easter With Virtual Performances of Her Emancipation of Mimi Singles

Mariah Carey is not only celebrating Easter Sunday this weekend but she’s also celebrating the 15th anniversary of one of her most iconic albums, The Emancipation of Mimi.

The legendary songstress took to Twitter to wish her 2005 studio album a happy anniversary, “I have a couple of fun surprises for you today. But first, while I’m on Easter Bunny duty… Let’s settle this! What’s your favorite Mimi single?? #TEOMAnniversary.”

On her Twitter poll, she gave fans the option to choose from “It’s Like That,” “We Belong Together,” “Shake It Off” and “Don’t Forget About Us.”

Dressed in a silk robe in true Mimi fashion, 50-year-old singer also shared another video of herself singing a snippet of the album’s closing track “Fly Like A Bird,” adding that the song “couldn’t be more appropriate for this Easter Sunday. Happy Easter, everyone!”

On Instagram, she shared the same snippets of herself showing off her legendary vocals and added, “Hope you enjoy these lil moments from the album. #TEOMAnniversary.”

Ahead of her album’s 15th anniversary, the Grammy-winner spoke to Billboard on why The Emancipation of Mimi was more than just a “comeback’ album.

“For me, it was like a coming together of a lot of things with that album more than a comeback album,” Carey told the publication. “But they can call it that if they want to.”

TEOM sold six million copies in the United States and received 10 Grammy nominations across 2006 and 2007.

When asked what’s the first memory that comes to find from that peak of her career, Carey said, “It really was a moment and it did feel special. When I think about all the different songs on [the album] and the different collaborators, the timing was just right […]  My most sacred memory from that time would be recording the vocals for “Fly Like a Bird” in Capri. I recorded a lot of other [tracks] there, too, but I just remember finishing that song and feeling like there was something so special about it. I work at night, especially when I’m singing, so I was watching the sunrise [while] listening back to the song, and I was just like, ‘I’m so proud of this song.'”

Of her favorite tracks off TEOM, Carey said it’s “hard to pick.” But she would probably go with “Fly Like a Bird” and “Your Girl.”

Ultimately, Carey simply “appreciates t[the] album from start to finish” and adds that she “just had the best time working on it and really got absorbed in the process.”

When asked what she believes her album said about her legacy as an artist, Carey answered: “I look at it as a very important time in my career, a very significant time for me as an artist. It was a sense of feeling triumphant when it was as successful as it was. I know a lot of people were introduced to me from that album, as well. So I would just love for people to take away the music from that album. I hope that it makes people feel good. That’s the goal.”

Chrissy Teigen's Response to Simone Biles' Handstand Challenge Is All of Us

Simone Biles took the handstand challenge to a whole new level.

While y’all have already seen stars like Jake Gyllenhaal, Tom Holland and Harrison Osterfield partake in the handstand challenge (which consisted of the celebs taking off their t-shirts without losing their handstand form) on social media—you haven’t seen anything like what 23-year-old Biles just did.

The USA Gymnastics star took to Twitter to post the impressive video of her take on the handstand challenge, in which she effortlessly removes her sweatpants in under a minute without losing her form or her balance.

And Chrissy Teigen said what we were all thinking as we watched—on the edge of our seats—Biles take off her sweatpants. “Simone I have to lay down and have someone else do it normally,” Teigen replied on Twitter.

Many of Biles’ followers even shared videos of themselves doing her version of the handstand challenge.

One follower shared, “THIS WAS HARD OMG.”

Another one said, sharing a TikTok video of themselves, “SAME!!!!”

And of course, the troll of all trolls, Ryan Reynolds also slid into Biles’ mentions and jokingly replied, “No.”

As fans may recall, the Spider-Man: Far from Home actor had also challenged Reynolds to try the t-shirt handstand challenge but he simply replied in a video, “No.”

Looks like we won’t be seeing Reynolds try either variation of the challenge anytime soon. But we think it’s safe to say that after Biles, no one should even try.

Michelle Money's Daughter Is ''Doing Well'' After Being Moved Out of the ICU

Ryan and Michelle Money‘s daughter “had a big win” with her health.

The former couple has been by Brielle‘s side following her “terrible skateboarding accident” in March, which was so bad that she was put on life support in the ICU. Slowly, the 15-year-old’s health has been improving.

At the time, the reality TV personality explained that her baby girl was suffering from “serious brain trauma and a fractured skull.” Because of this, Brielle underwent surgery to relieve pressure on her brain.

On Saturday evening, Ryan told his Instagram followers some good news: his daughter was moved out of the ICU.

“Brie had a big win today. She moved from the PICU (pediatric intensive care unit) to the NTU (Neuroscience Trauma Unit),” he shared in a detailed post. “She is doing so well!! Truly your prayers have been heard and are being answered. Your love, thoughts, spirit, positive energy are felt!”

“We are so grateful for those of you who have invested in Brielle’s recovery,” he said.

Adding, “Anyone familiar with a TBI recovery knows that this is a sacred and special time. I’m not sure how many times I have cried today… Brielle has a road ahead of her and with as tough as she shown herself to be we have high hopes but also we have all the time and energy she needs from us.”

Michelle also shared a brief update about Brielle with her followers.

“I can tell you that she’s going to be okay,” the former Bachelor contestant said in a 4-minute video, holding back the tears.

However, she expressed that she wouldn’t share as many updates about Brielle because she wants her daughter to be able to tell her own story.

“I need you guys to know how grateful I am for each and every one of you. I need to take a break from social media to allow myself to be fully in tune with my daughter and her needs,” she captioned her same post. “She is going to be just fine! We are going to get thru this!”

She added, “I just feel strongly that I need to honor Brielle and her privacy right now. When and if she wants to share her powerful story- she will. And I will be there to support her either way.”

“Love you all so much,” she closed.

Why We're Still Crazy In Love With Beyoncé's Coachella Takeover

Making history is nothing new to Beyoncé.

While the list is endless, one of the Bey Hive’s most recent memory of their queen reigning supreme is her 2018 Coachella performance. She said it best herself that night, “Thank you for allowing me to be the first black woman to headline Coachella, ain’t that bout a b-tch?”

Aside from becoming the first Black woman to headline the music festival in its 20-year history, she also became the third woman to headline the festival. Ariana Grande became the fourth in 2019 and before that, Lady Gaga and Björk (who headlined twice) made the list.

Her highly anticipated set drew thousands of eager attendees who were buzzing with excitement and witnessed history as the Lemonade singer gave fans a Destiny’s Child reunion, a performance with husband Jay-Z and a badass reunion with her sister Solange.

And just like that, in a matter of two hours—and after a couple of iconic outfit changes—the 38-year-old singer would turn Coachella into #Beychella for years to come.

‘Cause let’s face it, no headliner can come close to the impeccable and unforgettable performance that Queen Bey put on that night.

So, if only from our couches this weekend, let’s relive how Beyoncé changed the festival—known for historically favoring predominantly white and male musical acts as their headliners—forever.

As she aptly stated in her 2019 Netflix documentary Homecoming, “It’s hard to believe that, after all these years, I was the first African American woman to headline Coachella.”

She added, “As a black woman, I used to feel like the world wanted me to stay in my little box and black women often feel underestimated. I wanted us to be proud of not only the show, but the process, proud of the struggle, thankful for the beauty that comes with a painful history and rejoice in the pain, rejoice in the imperfections and the wrongs that are so damn right. I wanted everyone to feel grateful for their curves, their sass, their honesty, thankful for their freedom. It was no rules and we were able to create a free, safe space where none of us were marginalized.”

Robin Harper

As fans at the 2018 festival witnessed, Beyoncé made sure to create that “safe space” by making the culture of historically black colleges and universities front and center.

From being accompanied onstage by over 200 performers that made up a black orchestra, steppers, vocalists and a marching band—the singer’s two-hour set was a celebration of their identities, culture and no one held back.

As her mother Tina Knowles also put it following her daughter’s historic performance, “I told Beyonce that I was afraid that the predominantly white audience at Coachella would be confused by all of the black culture and Black college culture because it was something that they might not get. Her brave response to me made me feel a bit selfish and ashamed. She said I have worked very hard to get to the point where I have a true voice and at this point in my life and my career, I have a responsibility to do whats best for the world and not what is most popular.”

Her close attention to symbolism also extended to her fashion choices on both weekends. For weekend one of the music festival, the “I Ain’t Sorry” singer and her stylist Marni Senofonte connected with fashion designer Oliver Rousteing of Balmain to bring her visions to life.

From the custom-made Nefertiti-inspired ensemble that she donned when she first took to the stage to the crests on the sweatshirts (Delta Kappa and BAK), it was all an homage to Black culture in this country. (Not to mention, she sampled Nina Simone and played back excerpts from a Malcolm X speech during his set.)

“When I decided to do Coachella, instead of me pulling out my flower crown, it was more important that I brought our culture to Coachella,” the Houston, Texas native added. “I wanted every person that has ever been dismissed because of the way they look to feel like they were on that stage.”

But her road to the Coachella stage wasn’t easy—even though an artist of her caliber make it look easy.

As fans may recall, the Lemonade artist was slated to perform at Coachella in 2017 but later announced she would be pulling out of the festival when she revealed she was pregnant with twins Sir and Rumi.

During her Netflix documentary, she shared her body went through more than she ever thought possible. So, following the birth of her twins, her 2018 performance would be her “first time back home,” adding that “there were days that I thought I’d never be the same.”

The singer feared that her strength and endurance as a performer would never be what it once was. In short, the road to her return back on stage called for her to “rebuild” her body. But beyond that, she also had to grapple with sacrifices as a mother.

“My body was not connected. My mind was not there,” she said about the internal conflict she was experiencing. “My mind wanted to be with my children. What people don’t see is the sacrifice.”

But at the end of weekend 2 of Coachella, those days, weeks and months of practicing everything to near perfection paid off. “I feel like I’m just a new woman in a new chapter of my life,” she shared in Homecoming. “I’m not even trying to be who I was.”

And while fans might have gotten a different taste of the artist when she released Lemonade in 2016, her Coachella historic performance was something else entirely.

As soon as Queen Bey stepped out on stage, viewers at the Empire Polo Club fields and those streaming at home, knew we were about to witness something that only artists like her envision and execute.

As New Yorker writer Doreen St. Felix wrote of the singer’s performance, “No other living pop star is aware of her origin, or her truth that any origin is porous and multiple. In using snippets from Outkast, Juvenile, C-Murder, Pastor Troy, Big Freedia, and D.R.A.M. as transitions in her arrangements, Beyoncé presented herself as the inheritor of a suite of black styles.”

To mark the beginning of a legendary performance, Beyoncé gallantly strutted her way to the main-stage, ready to make her presence known. Then came the dance numbers, the marching band and all of the special tributes and appearances.

“Coachella, y’all ready?” the singer asked before jumping straight into a performance of “Crazy In Love.”

Of course, one of our favorite moments of her performance—besides her duet with Jay-Z of “Deja Vu”—was when she brought out her younger sister Solange for a special performance of “Get Me Bodied.”

Toward the end of her headlining show on weekend one, the singer made many of our teenage dreams come true and shared the stage as the first Black woman to headline Coachella when she brought out Kelly Rowlandand Michelle Williams for a highly anticipated Destiny’s Child reunion.

The trio performed their ’90s hits “Say My Name,” “Soldier” and “Lose My Breath.” For weekend one of Coachella, the beloved group, left us speechless when they strutted their way throughout the runway of the stage in matching military-inspired ensembles and during weekend two, we still fell head over heels in their silver matching outfits.

Right before closing out the night with her final song, “Love on Top,” the singer thanked the crowd for being there. She told her Bey Hive, “I was supposed to perform at Coachella before but I ended up getting pregnant…thank God.”

Ultimately, in a matter of two hours, Bey changed our expectations for what a headliner at Coachella looks like. Even by her standards, she went above and beyond to deliver a performance that was bigger than all of us.

“I feel like we made something that made my daughter proud, made my mother proud, my father proud, all of the people that are my brothers and sisters around the world and that’s why I live,” she shared in her documentary of what the Coachella performance meant to her. “I’m so lucky and grateful that I’m able to take all these crazy ideas and actually make it into something that heals people and that may spark vision in people, that shows them to dream big, that shows them that they are limitless. It’s possible. If my country ass can do it, they can do it.”
