The news of Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson‘s coronavirus diagnoses sent shockwaves through the nation. 

After all, the beloved couple had been the first high-profile stars to share their diagnosis publicly back in early March from Australia, where they had been working at the time, just as the coronavirus pandemic was ramping up in the United States. Fans kept up with their recovery thanks to social media statements, often calm and collected with a splash of humor, from the longtime pair. 

Just over two weeks later, the two had returned to the United States and home to Los Angeles. While they had not disclosed many details about their fight with the deadly virus in the process, Wilson has since recalled the battle in a new interview with CBS This Morning‘s Gayle King. 

“I was very tired. I felt extremely achey, uncomfortable, didn’t want to be touched and then the fever started,” Wilson recalled to King, noting she experienced chills like she had never had before. 

“Looking back, I also realized that I was losing my sense of taste and smell,” she said. Her fever had also gotten close to 102. Around day nine, Wilson was given chloroquine. “I can only tell you that I don’t know if the drug worked or it was just time for the fever to break,” she said. “But, my fever did break.”

The star also cautioned about the “extreme side effects” she suffered from the chloroquine, including nausea, vertigo, muscle weakness and the inability to walk. “I think people have to be very considerate about that drug. We don’t really know if it’s helpful in this case,” she told King. 

As for her famous husband, Hanks experienced milder coronavirus symptoms, Wilson said, adding that he didn’t have as high of a fever and did not lose his sense of taste or smell. However, it took the same amount of time for the husband and wife to get through the virus. 

As for how they contract the virus, they were told it was through somebody they both were exposed to at the same time. However, they don’t know when or where it happened, noting none of their close contacts have tested positive for coronavirus. 

Now recovered, the two were part of a study using their donated blood and are waiting to hear about whether their antibodies will be helpful in developing a vaccine and if their plasma can be donated to others battling the disease.

Ciaraand Russel Wilson just announced that they’ll be expecting a sweet baby boy. On Tuesday morning, the proud parents took to social media to share the exciting news with their fans, posting an adorable video of the gender reveal.

It’s official, Sienna Princess Wilson and Future Zahir Wilburn will soon be welcoming their younger brother.

As fans may recall, the “Level Up” singer announced she was expecting baby number 3 earlier this year in January. At the time, the 34-year-old shared a photo of herself posing in a bikini and baring her growing baby bump on social media. She captioned the post, “Number 3.” 

Most recently, Ciara also shared on her Instagram Stories how COVID-19 has affected her doctor visits during her pregnancy.

“Ultrasound visits during this era of COVID-19 is a bummer because my hubby @DangeRussWilson can’t come in with me to my visit. What a time we’re living in,” she shared. 

During a 2015 interview with E! News at the American Music Awards, Ciara shared the ways in which becoming a mother has changed her perspective in life. 

“I love being a mom. It really comes first before everything now. Everything has just happened in perfect timing for me with my son,” she said at the time. “I felt like I needed to have him in reference to how he’s grounding me and putting things into perspective for me. It just kind of makes me not care so much about things. Like, I don’t sweat the small stuff anymore and I give that credit to my son.”

In a 2018 interview with Essence, Ciara talked about how elated she was to be a mother-of-two.

“When you have two kids it’s double the love. With Russ, Future and Sienna, I have an abundance of love, so it just feels really good,” she told the publication. “As an entertainer when you’re just going and going, and with business when you’re really driven, when you have days like Mother’s Day you take the moment to put all of that to the side and really be normal and embrace that special part of life.” 

The singer shares 5-year-old Future Zahir with 36-year-old rapper Future and 2-year-old Sienna Princess with the 31-year-old NFL player. 

Some couples can experience the most dramatic relationship stories ever during pandemics. But for Ben Higgins and Jessica Clarke, it can bring out the very best in love.

After The Bachelor star chose to quarantine with his girlfriend and her family in Franklin, Tennessee. a special milestone occurred. Yes, Ben decided to get down on one knee and propose.

And while a successful, romantic engagement is absolutely worth celebrating, perhaps it’s the little details that prove these two are meant to be.

“The one thing that’s been cool is Jess and I have been together for a year and a half, but our time together was very sporadic,” Ben explained to E! News exclusively. “The thing that has made us unique in the celebration is being able to be in one place together consistently. Eating food, having a drink, spending time with family.”

The Generous Coffee founder continued, “The other night, Jess’ sister-in-law said, ‘This has been, in a sense, a huge benefit of the self-isolation. We wouldn’t have gotten to know you as well as we have if this hadn’t been happening.’ And so for us, that’s how we’re celebrating.”

While plenty of family time has been great, Ben and Jessica have still been able to enjoy romantic date nights indoors.

Recently, the pair “kind of closed the door to everybody” when they opened a bottle of wine, had dinner and just talked. “The two of us just hung out and I thought that was very romantic,” Ben shared. Jessica added, “The other day, Ben got me flowers because the flowers that we had when we got engaged were dead so he got me new flowers, which was really sweet. I think the little things are a bigger deal now.”

While Ben joked that he’s “always on my ‘A’ game” with Jessica’s family, he’s grateful to feel “extremely comfortable and at peace” when he’s with them.

“When I was dreaming of a partner, one of my hopes was not only would I get along with their family but that she would like and love and get alone with mine,” the co-host of iHeartRadio’s Almost Famous podcast shared. “If anything, this isolation has proven that this is true.”

As many can relate to, the pandemic has also given couples the opportunity to think about big milestones. For these two, questions have already begun about wedding planning.

According to the couple, they aren’t making any solid plans until things get back to normal. At the same time, both Ben and Jessica can’t help but share a few guests they’d love to see on their special day.

Bachelor Nation’s Ashley Iaconetti Haibon, Becca Tilley and Jared Haibon “will be there” while Dean Unglert, Wells Adams and Chris Harrison‘s odds of scoring an invite are strong.

“Becca Kufrin and Garrett Yrigoyen will be there,” Ben added. “The interesting part is a lot of these people have become good friends of mine…Some people have become legitimately good friends who I hope are friends for a lifetime.”

For now, both Ben and Jessica are focused on counting their blessings and giving back to those less fortunate during the Coronavirus.

The couple recently created a T-shirt line called “Hope Still Wins” where proceeds will be donated to help with organizations that need help due to COVID-19.

“Part of my job at Generous Coffee is to figure out how to invest funds into people that need it. And there’s a massive crisis going on right now and there’s a lot of pain that’s associated with it,” Ben explained. “Work has been slower for me because coffee sales just aren’t happening and our coffee shops have closed down for a bit. But the necessary advocacy piece is still there.”

And while the news may be stressful at times, both Ben and Jessica end each night grateful for their faith and good fortunes.

“At night, when I come up the stairs after a day and I see her smiling face, I’m excited to pour a drink and to have a dinner and to watch a movie with her,” Ben gushed. Jessica added, “Getting every single night on the couch together has kind of just reaffirmed how he is my best friend.”

Michelle Money‘s daughter is talking again, two weeks after her terrible skateboarding accident.

In late March, the Bachelor alum took to social media to share the heartbreaking news that her 15-year-old daughter Brielle was in the ICU on life support after suffering “serious brain trauma and a fractured skull.” Since that time, Michelle and Brielle’s father, Ryan Money, have been giving their followers updates on their daughter’s health, which has continued to improve.

On Monday, Ryan took to Instagram to share the wonderful news that Brielle is eating and talking.

“We moved to the NTU and Brielle has come in guns a blazin. Pretty sure that we can confidently say that her personality has not changed,” Ryan wrote. “48 hours ago we had not heard her talk….and now this. When FaceTiming Ashley and the kids, Ash asked her if I was entertaining her and she said, ‘He’s driving me crazy.'”

Ryan added, “She also wants ‘coconut redbull’, ‘Diet Coke’ and ‘Ben & Jerry’s ice cream’ pretty bad.”

“She currently has 3 favorite pastimes: giving the medical staff and myself a hard time, talking about what she wants to drink, or sleeping,” Ryan continued. “As her father, I cannot tell you how happy this makes me. She also had her first food in over 2 weeks. She had some yogurt and some thickened Powerade.”

Ryan also shared that Brielle is “recognizing many people in the photos that are up in her room.”

“To think back about all the questions we had about her and the extent of her injuries, this helps us know some important things. We are definitely not out of the woods yet on all of this, but to hear her talk, make symmetrical expressions, eat, and move all of her extremities in physical therapy is HUGE and literally nothing short of a miracle,” Ryan shared. “Brielle’s progress in the last 24 hours is absolutely contributed to you prayers. I am SO GRATEFUL for you. I cry many times thinking about how grateful I am. Thank you!”
