A New Video of Taylor Swift and Kanye West's ‘Famous’ Call Has Been Leaked
While many believed the ‘Famous’ feud between Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, and Taylor Swift to be an open-and-shut case, a new piece of evidence has been brought forward.
If, for some reason, you have no idea what that sentence means, allow me to fill you in. Back in April 2016, Kanye dropped the song “Famous,” which contained the lyrics “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that bitch famous.”
Swift immediately slammed the song, saying she felt disrespected and that he was trying to take credit for her accomplishments.
West insisted on Twitter that he had called Swift about the line and that she thought it was funny.
That’s where things get crazy. In an interview with GQ, Kardashian revealed that she had a tape of their conversation. Swift’s rep didn’t refute the call, just that the country-pop singer hadn’t approved of being called a “bitch.”
Soon after, Kardashian released the tape on Snapchat, leading to massive social media attacks against Swift, which ultimately contributed to Swift’s year-long self-exile from the music industry and another infamous tune, “Look What You Made Me Do.”
In Swift’s 2020 documentary, Miss Americana, Swift opened up about how the backlash affected her. “When people decided I was wicked and evil and conniving and not a good person,” she said to her mom, “that was the one that I couldn’t really bounce back from because my whole life was centered around it.”
“I’ve been doing this for 15 years and I’m tired,” Swift continued. “I’m just tired of the…it feels like it’s more than music now. Most days I’m okay, but…it just gets loud sometimes.”
