Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Stepped Out for First Time Since Royal Baby Announcement
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry attending their first stop on their official tour is fairly big news in and of itself—but it’s huge news when that event takes place just hours after the couple revealed they’re expecting a baby.
Yes, earlier today the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced that a royal baby is on the way. Later, they attended a welcome reception in Sydney, Australia at Admiralty House by the Governor General Peter Cosgrove and his wife, Lady Lynne Cosgrove. According to People, the Cosgroves also gave Meghan and Harry their first official baby present: a stuffed kangaroo with a baby joey in the pocket. “That’s so cute, it’s our first baby gift,” Meghan reportedly said.
Markle wore an outfit by Australian designer Karen Gee for the event, a sleek white look that’s aptly named the “Blessed” dress.
But enough details! I know you’re just here for the pictures. Take a look, below:
“Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019,” the palace stated on social media on Monday morning (October 15). “Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public.”
Meghan and Harry aren’t the only royal and royal-adjacent couple with baby news today. Rumor has it Kate Middleton’s sister, Pippa Middleton, has checked into the maternity wing to give birth. So many blessings—for the royal family and for those of us following along.
