Kelly Ramsey building opens as Enbridge Centre

The Enbridge Centre, formerly the Kelly Ramsey building, officially opened Thursday.

The 28-storey office tower incorporates the brickwork from the facades of the original Kelly and James Ramsey buildings, at an additional cost of $3.8 million.

The two buildings were largely destroyed by a fire in 2009, but the bricks were salvaged, labelled and cleaned before being reused within two feet of its original position.

“This building is unlike any other in Edmonton melding old and new in distinctive design, Enbridge Centre pays tribute to our city’s past while signalling its direction for its future,” said developer John Day, who spearheaded the project.
