Who Visits Fort MacMurray?

Many people visit Fort MacMurray every year for many different reasons. Some may come to the region for business purposes while others travel here for fun, and still others may travel to Fort MacMurray in order to spend time with friends or family. There are numerous locations, attractions, and activities in the area that may draw in visitors from around the globe. Hunters travel hundreds of miles or more  for the chance to hunt bear, grouse, or moose. The fishing in Fort MacMurray is also exceptional all year long.  Hikers and campers also gravitate to the region because of the natural beauty, and in the winter the excellent skiing is very appealing to those who enjoy this sport. Business visitors may be in the area to meet with someone from one of several oil companies, or the many other companies in Fort MacMurray.

  • Wood Buffalo National Park is a popular attraction in Fort MacMurray and this park draws in many visitors. A considerable amount of traffic to Fort MacMurray is caused by the spectacular Northern Lights, and this exquisite natural display can be viewed very clearly here. The Athabasca Dunes are also very close to the town and it is a natural wonder in the region.  There are almost as many reasons to visit Fort MacMurray as there are visitors each year, and this is a very popular destination for tourists and business travelers both.
