Taylor Swift Liked A Bunch of Fan Posts About That New Kanye West Phone Call Footage
Oh boy, the saga bewteen Taylor Swift, Kanye West, and Kim Kardashian continues after new video from the 2016 call between Swift and West leaked on March 22. While none of the celebs involved have issued public statements about this new layer of drama, Taylor Swift seems to be showing how she feels in a more subtle way.
If you remember, the whole situation involves West’s 2016 song “Famous,” in which he name-drops Swift in lyrics “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/Why? I made that bitch famous.” Shortly after the song dropped, Swift said through a statement that she found the lyrics to be “misogynistic.”
However, Kardashian and West insisted they ran the song by the pop star before it was even released. Kardashian even took to Snapchat to prove their side of the story, releasing a recording of the call they had with Swift in which West explains some of the premises to her. Swift can be heard enjoying a lyric shared by the rapper, which led many people to accuse her of lying and playing the victim.
But in new, extended footage of the call, West never mentions the “bitch” line at all, which seems to confirm Swift’s original story. During the conversation, you can hear Swift specifically tell West she’s glad he didn’t call her a “bitch” in the song. “I’m glad it’s not mean though,” she said on the call. “It doesn’t feel mean, but like, oh my God, the build-up you gave it. I thought it was gonna be like that stupid dumb bitch, like, but it’s not.”
On Tumblr, several fans have been posting memes and statements praising Swift, who they feel has been vindicated after four long years. According to the Daily Mail, Swift seems to have gone on a bit of a Tumblr spree herself by liking a bunch of these posts. Here are some of the posts reportedly “liked” by her account:
There you have it, at least for now. Swift’s currently staying at home and encouraging fans to do the same during the COVID-19 pandemic. As for the Kardashian-Wests, we’ll just have to wait and see.
