Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has broken collarbone, season in doubt

MINNEAPOLIS — Aaron Rodgers has a broken collarbone and “could miss the rest of the season.”

The Green Bay Packers made the announcement about their star quarterback in the third quarter at Minnesota. The Packers also posted on their official Twitter account that “there’s a chance he could miss the rest of the season.”

Brett Hundley has taken over since Rodgers was hurt on the second drive of the game. The Vikings lead 20-10 early in the fourth quarter.

Hundley was a fifth-round draft pick by the Packers in 2015. He was a three-year starter at UCLA. He had only thrown 11 passes in the NFL before being thrown into the fire on Sunday.

Rodgers broke his left collarbone in November 2013 and he missed seven games, returning for the final game of the regular season. Green Bay was 0-4-1 in the first five games without Rodgers but rebounded to win two of the last three with Matt Flynn under centre before Rodgers returned.

The Packers, who finished 8-7-1, lost to San Francisco in the first round of the playoffs.
