Alberta Finance Minister Joe Ceci will release details of the government’s 2017-18 first-quarter fiscal update on Wednesday.
CBC News will livestream the news conference, scheduled to start at 1:30 p.m. MT.
The province ended the 2016-17 fiscal year with $33.3 billion in debt, mainly incurred to cover capital and operating expenses.
During his year-end update in June, Ceci pointed to the low price of oil and the costs of the Fort McMurray wildfire as factors the government had to grapple with last year.
He said at the time the government was trying to hold the line on costs.
